Eljay did receive a late invite after the state tournament. Skyler Hunter of Calloway Co and Michael Stafford of Trinity have also been added to the invite list.

I don't get it with Hunter. I would take Adams, who is in his class and on Hunter's team, over Hunter any day of the week. Hunter didn't even make the all first region team. He is tall and he can shoot. But he averaged less than 12 points a game. He is probably the 4th best junior in the first region behind Adams, Wooten, and Bacon. Not deserving of an invite in my opinion.

No one has ever answered the question from the KABC about how a sophomore makes the Jr. team list and a kid who is enrolled at a WV school gets an invite. Need more scrutiny about this list. Kids like Ruckel at Lewis County or other smaller schools should get more recognition. They often see best defender or double teams and face guarding and have to work harder to put up numbers for their teams. Ruckel finished in top 10 in the state in FT shooting, as did the junior kid from Nicholas County, but neither got an invite to tryouts. Just led their teams in scoring facing tough D every night and finished in FT top ten. Seems like coaches would want good FT shooters late in the game....

Noticably missing is the Ramser kid from Trinity.

The sophomore (Carson Williams) on the invite list was a mistake. Someone thought he was a junior, maybe next year.
