Not sure what I can post, so I'll just say that from I know Birdsfan needs our prayers before 6pm tonight, as after that time they will begin their assessments.

Someone please keep this one updated with any important news. I rarely check the HS forums. Keep fighting BF!

Hello everyone, quick update. As of 1:00PM today, Dave is resting peacefully. Around 3:30AM this morning he had a scare as his blood pressure crashed. Eventually it was returned to his normal. Right now it is still wait and see. At 6:00PM this evening they will begin bringing him out of the medical induced coma and begin weening him off the medications. The neurological team will begin their assessments following that. This will be scary part as mentioned earlier Dave was without oxygen for an over 20 minutes.

 

Thank you everyone for all these nice comments and more importantly for your prayers. I've been reading them to Dave and I'd like to think he's hearing me.

Almighty and Eternal God,

You are the everlasting health of those who believe in You.

Hear us for Your sick servant Dave

for whom we implore the aid of Your tender mercy,

that being restored to bodily health,

he may give thanks to You in Your Church.

Through Christ our Lord.

As has been said, 6 pm will be very telling. I'm praying that my best friend will come out of this okay, but I'm scared out of my wits. Praying as hard as I can. Please continue to keep him in yours as well. I'm just sick.

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal Dave. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.

 

You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into their body and give them the strength to fight their illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
