February 5, 201412 yr Northbound US27 in Cold Spring has been "cleared" - black road showing at 2:15am. Southbound US27 still has substantial snow/ice cover with no black showing. There is not much ice clinging to trees, signs, etc., which equates to our still having power here in NoKY. The snow/ice combination is very crunchy. You simply break through it. It is like one solid sheet of styrofoam. Will be a bear to scrape off of cars in the morning.
February 5, 201412 yr Our power went off for a short time last night. Haven't been out yet, but we have snow and ice. Really dread my son going to work this morning.

A friend was explaining that he ALWAYS woke up before is roommate, for the express purpose of getting to the shower first. After all, he said, "You never know about another fellow's soapin' habits".
February 5, 201412 yr Ended up with 2" snow, 2" sleet and layer of ice on top in NKY. No power loss which was a blessing. My thoughts are with those who have lost power. Campbell, Boone, and Kenton Counties are under a level 2 snow emergency. Colleges and libraries are opening between 11-12. I'll be reporting to work at 11a and enjoying a second shift day today. Allow yourself extra time to travel and be safe!

February 5, 201412 yr Our power flashed twice last night, both within about 10 minutes of each other. It was only off for 20-30 seconds each time and came back. I was expecting it to go out for good at some point, but it never did.
February 5, 201412 yr This just in by Nixle in Alexandria. trucks will be clearing the median and business entrances along 27. Expect delays. Tells me roads are clear and they are doing the clean up work now. Never did get a text saying reduced to level 1??
February 5, 201412 yr Here in Boone Co., that was the heaviest combination of whatever it was I've ever shoveled off of my driveway.
