The Rays need something and I hope Luke gives it to them.

 

The starting pitching rotation, which was projected to be one of the best in MLB before the season, has stunk it up something awful. Part of that has to go on the person behind the plate. As a former catcher, Cash has to know that.

 

They need to something at short, too. Brad Miller has 13 errors, already. They need to get him into the outfield and bring up or trade for a defensive short stop. I understand the trade off of defense for offense when they traded for Miller, but come on.

I don't know what his contract reads out like, but this is great for him financially, potentially. He is locked in to the prorated league minimum for the rest of the year, even if he is sent back down. Good pay for the next 4 months. That is if he isn't making more than that already.
