That is probably the way the depth chart stacks up. I think Luke could overtake him. You are assuming the young prospect they might sign or acquire is headed to the minors making Luke #2. That is most likely also. But, if this young prospect is worthy of rostering as the Pirates look to the future, that minor league option is going to work against Luke.

Hoping lol, not assuming. Marte is who they want to deal. Padres and Dbacks seem to be targets. Hedges, is young but he’s falling apart. I don’t think they will trade the other kid. Not sure what the Dbacks have.

Looks like Maile is out for the year. He had surgery for a fractured index finger. That puts him out 10-12 weeks which covers this whole shortened season. That is a real shame. It was going to be fun seeing him at GABP.
