I actually didn't think the E-Town incident that lead to the ejection was a bad decision, so you've misjudged me again. I also hope they get a great coach who will stick around because they have got some pretty good talent for whoever comes in.

I'm no longer in the county, but I am close by & have heard a number of people say really good things about the Superintendent. It's about time!

He's as good as they get. If they make them any better, I haven't seen them. Well, there is one I know who falls into his category (and, he is retired), but that's it.

Yeah Stoney is a great coach! I wasn't saying he left WC .. I was asking would he? I thought he was a great fit for Garrard county

 

Stoney's record has been pretty rough at Woodford. What has been the problem over there?

I honestly think the administration won't mess this hire up this time.

You have a Superintendent that understands the importance of every aspect of a school system. This is huge today. 90% of a Supt problems comes from 10% of what they have say so in. However, Mr. Mullins will not fall into this trap, he realizes the importance of what this means to the community, know different to his employment. Question do you want Stability? Great Program? and Respect?, but do not care how long someone is willing to stay then Perry is the best. On the same note and looking for a long haul coach which is 5+ years today (Hodge or Jaggers), both very quality coaches that are going to get results. I feel the same about Hester as about Perry, but when you follow a good as he did then you do not get the respect you deserve. You must remember this is a business decision, and I can assure you Mullins how important this is.

I can already see how Mullins has changed our community. He gets on twitter/instagram and has lately been posting updates on weather and pictures of bad roads as to why they are not in school. He is a very down to earth guy and knows what buttons to push to get the community the best services possible for the school he represents and the athletic programs that represent the school. Never met the guy but he always has a smile on his face, and I think wether superindentents have had a say in the hiring of the football coach in the past, he IMO will have a say in this one. Guess we'll all have to just stay tuned! :popcorn:

Don't think Jeff feels like he is second fiddle to anyone but I believe he would rather be Chuck Smith's DC than be the head man at Garrard and im not slighting Garrard. I just think friendships will come into play on that one.

 

As far as who I think will be the head man at Garrard......see above on Hester, to much animosity against Hodge. Didn't think Coach Perry was an option but he may be now....my opinion the new super better get involved with Perry if they want him and that's all I will say about that. If not Perry it will be the obvious......an up and coming assistant from somewhere.

Purple, someone that wants the job. Hodge is competitive and this will be the knock against him. Because his name has been and will be mentioned for a lot of jobs (this makes him a bad guy), on the other hand if he was a loser. Then he would be looking for another reason. This is what I do not understand. Other coaches/fans/loyalist will bash coaches that build a program say like a Bourbon/Casey/or another non-traditional WINNING programs. They will say things or make things up that are not true just because these programs are not suppose to be successful. I have even heard said they were cheating because these programs are not capable of winning.

It first starts with the principle at the school, then with some of the parents of the players on the team that blasted him on social media like facebook, ect..... after Bourbon beat Garrard this year. Bourbon was the better team this year and last so they should have taken there beatings and been quite about it. In turn they may have had a "SECOND" chance to get Coach Hodge.....don't think that's this case now and you can't blame him. Plus, if those people that blasted him on social media for beating Garrard so bad had looked at all of Bourbons scores they would have seen that they beat most everyone that bad.......it wasn't just because it was Garrard County!!!!!

 

 

People need to realize that Coach Hodge graduated from GCHS, played ball there, has a wife that teaches in the system and has family that is active in the community. I believe he still loves his school but why would he want to come back after all that has been said.
