January 20, 201412 yr So all of you trash talking haters don't like Muhammed Ali? Michael Jordan? Larry Bird? Magic Johnson? Charles Barkley? Shaq? Warren Sapp? Michael Irvin?
January 20, 201412 yr Do we really want to talk about fan bases and obsession? :lol2: UK fans are terribly obsessive, but many who loathe UK fans are just as obsessive.
January 20, 201412 yr Some people take this WAY too seriously. My God, who cares how he reacted or what he said? He was pumped. I thought it was funny, it entertained me. That's the reason I watch sports in the first place. To be entertained. Sherman did that. And no, I don't care whether he was classy, or classless, or any of that. None of that factors in to why I watch sports in the slightest. Also, anyone who considers athletes as role models probably shouldn't have children. They're clearly clueless. Count me as one that doesn't care, but he did make a fool out of himself. Still, I'm not bothered by it. Most parents don't encourage their kids to look at athletes as role models, kids just seem to do that on their own.
January 20, 201412 yr I didn't realize you had to be a punk to make entertaining tv. You are correct, trash talking and taunting is part of the game to an extent. But your telling me it's okay to act the way he did in 3 separate interviews on the field after the game and then, after he's "had a chance to cool off" continuing tO talk trash and tell people he is the greatest? I know, right! The nerve of that guy! Everyone knows Ali is the greatest! I mean, he told us he was, right?!
January 20, 201412 yr So all of you trash talking haters don't like Muhammed Ali? Michael Jordan? Larry Bird? Magic Johnson? Charles Barkley? Shaq? Warren Sapp? Michale Irvin?Agreed. Big difference between Ali and Sherman is Ali didn't sound crazy, but overall I agree.
January 20, 201412 yr So all of you trash talking haters don't like Muhammed Ali? Michael Jordan? Larry Bird? Magic Johnson? Charles Barkley? Shaq? Warren Sapp? Michale Irvin?Chuck once said "I'm not a role model, just because I can dunk a basketball doesn't mean I should raise your kids".
January 20, 201412 yr I think you meant to say white people were the most upset. :idunno: Overwhelmingly. I wasn't going to bring it up but yeah........

January 20, 201412 yr And to add to that most kids grow out of that by age 12.Yep. Then they think they know everything. :lol2:

If you watch professional football, or any other professional sports for that matter, for the purpose of seeing classy, gentlemen-like contests, then maybe you need to really pay attention to what sports are today. Because that ain't it...
January 20, 201412 yr My only problem with Sherman, at times it feels like he is talking down to people. One of his tweets after the game, " A lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of a sheep." Then there was the Skip Bayless interview when he told Skip he was better at life than him. Maybe he's just trolling, but I find it to be off putting. That said, all the racist comments he's getting on twitter, totally stupid and those people look a lot worse.

Because that ain't it... I'd suggest watching golf or tennis if that's what you want out of professional sports. MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL are not the place to be looking for class. It's just not there anymore.
January 20, 201412 yr So all of you trash talking haters don't like Muhammed Ali? Michael Jordan? Larry Bird? Magic Johnson? Charles Barkley? Shaq? Warren Sapp? Michale Irvin? I'm not a huge fan of trash talking but it's part of the game. Probably why I didn't particularly care for any of these guys you mentioned while they were competing. I equate Sherman's interview with Jordan's HOF speech.
January 20, 201412 yr I find it funny that almost all of the people I know upset about Sherman's interview are UK fans. Add me to the list of UK fans that isn't upset by it.
