I'd suggest watching golf or tennis if that's what you want out of professional sports. MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL are not the place to be looking for class. It's just not there anymore.

It's just silly to me. As a society, we want to watch these guys literally try to rip each others heads off during the game, but then sound like they just left boarding school right after the game? Come on now... :lol2:

My only problem with Sherman, at times it feels like he is talking down to people. One of his tweets after the game, " A lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of a sheep." Then there was the Skip Bayless interview when he told Skip he was better at life than him.

Maybe he's just trolling, but I find it to be off putting. That said, all the racist comments he's getting on twitter, totally stupid and those people look a lot worse.

Stanford education, superstar in his craft, going to make more money than Skip could ever imagine making....While it may not be a "classy" (uh oh, there's that word again) thing to say, he wasn't really lying either....

If you watch professional football, or any other professional sports for that matter, for the purpose of seeing classy, gentlemen-like contests, then maybe you need to really pay attention to what sports are today. Because that ain't it...

Or watch Polo. Croquet. Maybe even tennis and golf.

If I were a receiver facing Sherman, I would not say one word to him ... not one. I would ignore everything he says. Every time I made a catch, I would hustle back to the huddle, tell my QB and teammates in the huddle that I own this guy and get me another one and then get ready to catch another one on him. I would be the stronger player mentally. I would not fuel his fire. I would give him no emotion to use to his advantage. Guys that run their mouths like that don't know how to deal with it when you don't give them what they want.

Exactly. Guys like that literally need that fuel to play the game. If you talk back, you are falling right into the the trap. Not saying anything to them makes them second guess themselves, and/or try to figure out why you won't respond, thus taking their mind of their game.

I took his lion and sheep tweet as a shot at all of the racist tweets he received.

Skip Bayless is the Richard Sherman of journalism. That was a fair fight and Skip lost.

Skip Bayless is awful.

I'm not a huge fan of trash talking but it's part of the game. Probably why I didn't particularly care for any of these guys you mentioned while they were competing.

I equate Sherman's interview with Jordan's HOF speech.

Just sayin'......

So just so I understand. A guy going to the podium and making references to feet to get a jab in on Rex and his wife's foot fetish is in the same boat as a guy taunting a receiver after the play, then having multiple interviews on the field claiming to be the greatest in the game, calling his counterpart mediocre, and then after a shower, getting back in the spotlight to let everybody know again that he is the best and Crabtree is mediocre? Welker was suspended because Belicheck told the team not to say anything "news worthy". If Sherman was a patriot, he wouldn't see the field in 2 weeks.

But thank you for helping me. After seeing you group those two instances together I completely understand how ignorant people can be.

So you have no problem with someone attacking a coach and the wife, who had nothing to do with the game, personally. However, a guy that just made a play that sent his team to the Super Bowl gives an emotional response immediately after the game is the jerk? He backed it up on the field. And what did he say that was untrue? He's the best corner in the game right now. Take a poll and see what kind of response you get. Crabtree is mediocre, he's got 22 touchdowns in 5 years in the NFL.

You've got an opinion, I've got an opinion--they don't agree. But I didn't call anyone ignorant like you just did BBB and I. You might want to take a look at the lack of class that you are exhibiting before throwing stones at Sherman.

Not in my eyes. :lol2:

Not sure but I don't recall Crabtree being a factor. Nor Vernon Davis.

Crabtree was a non issue because he is afraid to take a hit. Game on the line and he short arms a potential catch because he ducked out of the way of the DB. Just terrible. You get paid millions of dollars to play the damn game like it should be. I think Sherman was right. The way he said it might now be the way I would have but he was right.

I think the debate between Doug Baldwin and Cris Carter is much more interesting.

What's that?

Not in my eyes. :lol2:

Mine either. He'll never be better than Kobe. He wasn't nothing without Pippen. He didn't win nothing without Pippen after 1998. Didn't win nothing without Phil Jackson either. Hell, if not for Steve Kerr and Craig Hodges he'd be another Tracy McGrady.

My fault. Got a little emotional and got sidetracked. Pulled a Sherman. My bad. Continue.

What's that?

I guess Keyshawn and Cris Carter called Baldwin & Tate appetizers instead of the main course on one of the 2,000 NFL centric shows on ESPN that essentially reiterate the same points. After the game, Baldwin made some remarks about the two and said they were some tasty appetizers or something.. I don't remember all of it.

Cris Carter was on Mike & Mike this morning and he basically said "Shut up, I'm in the Hall of Fame. My credentials speak for myself".

I don't remember all the details as I was half asleep and I can't seem to locate audio or video. Hell, I may be making it al up.
