Both of the little Tacsters are home from school. Just shoved a couple beer cans up some chickens back ends. Have some shrimp, asparagus and shrooms. Maybe do a little potatoe as well.

Last night, pan fried sirloins in bacon grease with Brussels sprouts.

Mother's Day buffet at Blue Licks SRP.

Saturday night smoked baby backs on the Weber kettle over applewood with homemade rub and sauce.

For Mothers day my husband grilled 1 1/2 inch rib eyes. I fixed fresh corn on the cob with a herb butter I made from my herb garden. Home canned green beans with country ham. Fresh mango and peaches for dessert.

Modesty prevents me from telling you all, but let's just say multiple counters at Jungle Jim's were put to work today!!!;)

I took this container of "harvest soup mix" that I got from an Amish store (has wild rice and white rice, peas and other grains).

Added some ground pork sausage as well as smoked sausage, dried onion, a couple cans of mixed vegetables, a can of peas, a can of beans and a can of diced tomatoes and green chiles. Seasoned the broth with chicken base, black pepper, cayenne, paprika, Lawry's salt, parsley, cinnamon, garlic and onion.

It thickened up into a nice, spicy Cajun stew.

Hope none of your party are gout sufferers. That'd be a fantastic meal I'd probably still be paying for three days later.

We had my wife's family down last night and made some ribs with a homemade rub and homemade BBQ sauce, with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob.

Ha. No we're all pretty heavy seafood eaters year round.

Consider yourselves lucky. I love shellfish and have to really watch how much of it I eat at any one time. Last trip I took with mom and dad to the Belterra seafood buffet required about a half-gallon of cherry juice to help my gout meds do their job.

Only have steak about 3-4 times a year as a result as well.

Usually whenever I have steak and/or shellfish it's in a celebratory situation, so that compounds things with the booze.
