Texas A&M 52 Duke 48

Heck of a comeback by the Aggies in The Chick-Fil-A Bowl & a really exciting game to watch. And what a game by Manziel in what will probably be his last at the collegiate level.

Saw the halftime score & figured that the game was over.

Looks like I figured wrong.

In his 2 postseason appearances... 971 total yards, 9 total TDs.

Watching movies with the family tonight....VERY GLAD that I DVR'd this!!! Looking forward to watching it in the a.m.

2 years in a row the Dukies have had heartbreakers. ..

Johnny Football is the most exciting college player in the country, IMO. I'm not surprised by the outcome, not surprised by the comeback either.

Kudos to Duke, though. Nice season for the Blue Devils football program.

Best player college football has seen in maybe forever, and I never thought I would say that after Tebow.

I mean, let's think just in the last 30 years alone:

-Manziel

-Tebow

- Vince Young

- Reggie Bush

- Vick

- Warrick Dunn

- Peyton Manning

- Charles Woodson

- Tommy Frazier

- Danny Wuerfell (Sp?)

-Charlie Ward

-Jerome Bettis

- Desmond Howard

-Tim Brown

- The Entire Miami teams from 83-88

-Doug Flutie

-Hershel Walker

- Bo Jackson

- John Elway

- Jim McMahon

- Dan Elway

- Tony Dorsett

….any of those really more captivating than this 5'11 with heels on, 180 lbs chicken with his head cut off, laser armed QB?

Who is this Dan Elway you speak of?

Barry Sanders was pretty good.

I agree that Manziel is the most exciting player in college football, one would have to be a very special kind of stupid to deny his talent. Having said that, I hope that he declares for the nfl because I cannot stand the guy. Anyone that acts, thinks that he is above the game of college football I have no use for. I am sure that others feel different and am fine with that. JMO "Johnny Look-at-me" is an arrogant spoiled brat. Again, the guy is a great football player but I would be fine with never having to watch him again.

As for Duke football I agree as well, Cutcliffe has done an awesome job with that program, he didn't re build Duke football, he built Duke football. Duke's players play the game hard and with respect for the game. I can't believe that the words are coming from me but I was rooting so hard for Duke  in this one. My disclaimer in pulling for Duke is that it was football, not basketball. :D

As for the game, this was one of the most exciting games of the season. I really questioned some of the calls and/or no calls that went A&M's way. Several pass int. that imo could/should have been called, holding more than once, one obvious facemask just to name a couple.

Those no calls did not win the game for A&M, when it came the 2nd half and down the stretch A&M made the plays and Duke didn't.

I had this one on dvr, was able to keep from hearing the final or anything about it so I really got to enjoy watching it. I do have to admit that I was very close to just stopping the play back and hitting delete in the 2nd qtr.. I am glad that I didn't.

one final thought....Dang I wish that U.K. could have gotten D. Cutcliffe several years ago (can't rmember exact year) when I thought that they had a shot, I would have offered him all I could have to get him. jmo.

BTW...That is not a shot at Stoops, Brooks or anyone, just that I would loved to have gotten him.

Off the field he was an attention getter, but on the field dude is as competitive as it comes and he appears to be a tremendous leader. That changes up a lot of things for me.

I have felt the best compliment you can pay a player is that they are "must watch" television. That is Johnny Manziel and then some. Reggie Bush was must watch but he only touched the ball 20 times a game. Going to miss him.

What a game, btw. A&M may have the most putrid defense in college history. Duke left it all out on the field and the QB was amazing on third down ( thanks a lot to the Aggies). They converted every third down until the middle of the fourth. Think about that.

Texas AM got lucky!

Texas AM got lucky!

.........and/or the Duke QB made 2 bad plays in the 4th quarter.
