Personally I haven't jumped ship because the Cats lost to UNC. I jumped ship a while back because Calipari makes me cringe. Sure his coaching record speaks for itself, but I don't care for that swindler look he has written all over his face, or his detestable swagger. When he retires from coaching I've no doubt he'd also make a good funeral home director. I just don't dig him being the face of Kentucky or what the program has become because of him.

The Cats traditionally are hated nationally because A). They've always been great (which is a good reason to be hated), B). The fans won't ever quit wining about Christian Laettner (My heart sunk too when he made that shot, but I can't help but feel happy for the guy), and now C). Because to add more reason to being hated we now have a shyster looking dude running the show.

I just can't in good conscience be a fan of them anymore until he leaves and changes are made that warm me back up to them.

If that makes me sound like a fair weather fan then so be it.

As for now, I'm rooting for Cinderella, whoever she is from year to year, and have my College Basketball Jones satisfied by her.

This is no attempt to recruit ship-jumpers. This is just my own personal thoughts on what works for me in College ball, and what doesn't.

Cheer and believe on Cats fans if that's what works for you. It's just not working for me.

Or D--Arrogant, so-called "fans" like you, that think just because they are the U of K they should win every game by 50 points and if they don't--Fire the coach!! Give the rest of the country some credit that they may be trying to win as well?? Cal has redefined UK as the "IT" program, and if folks like yourself don't run him off because they don't win every game; he'll redefine success in Lexington. Patience will pay dividends with this team, like all young teams.

NO coach, Cal included, likes re-doing their team every year; but Tubby/Billy G left him a bare cupboard and he (to his credit) restocked it quite quickly & well! Due to some weak recent drafts, and the "KY effect"; he's lost some kids that I guarantee most thought would stay a couple more years--Thus the "one & done" syndrome. Had he been brought in 10+ years ago, we'd have a better base and more consistency; but we needed the quick fix, and got it. Leave him alone & give him time; and you'll see a consistent, top level, winning program like he's had everywhere he's been!! Keep up the unrealistic pressure, and get ready for Billy G--Part II.

Personally--I'm for staying the course and remembering it's mid-December and they're mostly Freshmen--Time to Learn & Mature!! Would 33-7 and cutting down the nets in April really break everyone's hearts??????

Camp Cal can't come soon enough. The period between semesters is when Cals teams start to flourish. I'm not worried one bit. Now if February hits and they are still sputtering then I will be very worried. Harrison's seem to have more confidence, Randle needs to be a beast again, and Young needs to get consistent. All the pieces have shown up this year, they haven't done it at the same time yet. When that happens....

I have been saying the same thing. Hate to come into these threads and see all the negative posts. Just be patient.

I think you might've misunderstood me. Cal could go undefeated with the Cats. It's not a question of win or lose... I just don't like Cal that's all. He is the primary reason for my distaste which sours me from being excited about the team. If I saw him in person I would not at all be eager to chat with him. Sometimes you can just tell by looking that certain folks will rub you the wrong way. For me he's most definitely one of them.

That's good that you're no longer a fan. You don't sound like someone we want to represent us as "true" UK fans.

Aw... shucky darn. I don't know how I'll possibly get by in life not being a part of the Cats Nation but I'll certainly try my best, and somehow I'll survive however hard it might be.

Did anybody else sit in traffic from West Virginia's self imposed "Rock Slide" just inside of the East River Mountain tunnel on North 77 yesterday. That added another 1-1/2 hours of travel time to us yesterday. It ended up taking 10hrs to get home. I wish the Cats would of pulled that one out for us. It would of made the fan tolerance and crappy travel conditions a little less painful. Wow, did I say the UNC were awful. We got brutalized by their fans!

How was that fan experience?

Haven't read much of this thread, but God this team is a train wreck to watch.

1. The PG Harrison sucks. The 2G Harrison is solid.

2. Randle is Archie 2.0 when it comes to being all about me. Has to lead the world in turnovers. Plays out of control on offense way too much.

3. This team has no clue how to play defense. WCS is the only guy that gets it.

4. This team is dangerously close to coming out of the non-conference portion of their schedule without a signature win. That's a must have with how atrocious the SEC is.

5. I've said it once, I'll say it again. Much more similar a team to last season, than to the 2012 team.

6. I'm not seeing improvement from one game to the next from any of the freshman. That's the most alarming thing IMO.

This has been the most troubling. Randle in particular has not developed beyond what he possessed the first few weeks. His progression reminds me of Terrence Jones. Remember when he was considered as one of the top players in college basketball the first month of his Freshman season? I do believe the Harrison's are understanding that they can get to the hoop when the want and both are solid at making difficult shots. In that respect they are getting better.

Definitely true about Randle. He's all about Randle.

Some of this I agree with.

1. Andrew has been better offensively & is tough to defend when going to the basket. He's also good at drawing fouls, but 10-17 FT shooting from your PG isn't going to cut it. Defensively, he is awful. And I agree with your assessment of Aaron Harrison. He's probably the team's most consistent player.

2. What concerns me about Randle is that he hasn't developed any kind of offensive maneuver since the season started. And even though he's been double-teamed since the Michigan State game, he is clueless on what to do when he is double-teamed down low. I'm not sure I would label him selfish, but he has regressed.

3. Wholeheartedly agree on the defensive side of the ball.

4. Wholeheartedly agree on the schedule too.

5. I compare this team to the "Team Turmoil" from the Tubby years in this respect: So much talent, so little results.

6. I think Aaron Harrison has improved & Andrew has on the offensive side of the ball. But that's about it.

I'm not sure what else you can call it. His refusal to give it up is killing them from getting into any kind of offensive flow because they can't go more than a possession or two without a dumb Randle turnover.

1. I think the PG play is getting better, still not good, but I see positives. Seems to me that Wall also struggled in areas early, as well as Teague and Knight.

2. Randle reminds me of T. Jones his freshman year, not so much Goodwin.

3. Agree

4. Agree

5. Agree

6. Disagree

It might be. I want Randle to be a little bit selfish because of his physical prowess, but he does seem to turn it over a lot because he forces too much.
