Yeah that's right up there with the KHSAA putting Adam McCormick on the front of the State Championship program I think maybe in 1989 or 92. It was a forgone conclussion that year CCH was winning. Highlands upset CovCath to make the Championship and win.

My first thought - that UK football game a few years back against (I think) LSU and the Gatorade bath just before the end.

They just forgot the word "game" at the end.

Very similar to the 2005 4A title game between X and T. X had demolished T in the rival game that year, and went into the state title game rematch as a heavy favorite. So much so that they had championship shirts and hats made up already and in boxes on the side line. Only problem, they lost to T, rendering those articles of clothing use less. Lesson here...never assume, or take anything for granted.

I think for a lot of the major college and pro sporting events, there's a ton of merchandise pre-printed so that it can be seen immediately after the game itself is over...we just never usually see the losing team's stuff.

 

However, I think someone posted on here a couple years ago how a lot of that stuff gets sent back overseas, and is actually wore. I'm thinking that someone said they were in China or Taiwan or someplace like that, and saw a t-shirt for a championship...that actually was for the losing team.
