Highlands won't be as good next year they lose alot of big boys. They lose around 9 guys in their 2 deep O-line, their 2 best running backs. Next year might be a rough year.

 

I have to agree...so we should see Simon on the schedule right? Seriously though i do think they will fall off a little bit for sure. Lose a lot of talent but they still have a lot there. Could be the year Cov-cath breaks the streak.

Not many people will feel sorry for Highlands, but you will get that when you win 7 straight, same goes for Trinity. Everyone knew this would happen one day. I know there has been close calls with Bryan Station and Johnson Central, but Highlands always found a way. Congrats to Collins on a great win, you are STATE CHAMPS!

Oh lord freshman titles again......Uk fan think about this...in a year where Trinity, St.X, Male and Manual are not in the title game and arguable one of Simons best teams ever...and you dont play for a state title.......Ouch! What does everyone think about the decision by the Collins coach to go for it on 4th down from his own territory while holding a lead?

 

I thought it was great because if you make it you have a chance to make it a two score game. If you don't make it you probably are not going to stop Highlands and you will get the ball back with a chance to win. If you punt you probably are not going to stop Highlands and you might not get the ball back with any time left.

When scott and SK fans come out to talk smack that's when I know its just the pent up agression of several years of following/being part of a statistically unsucessful prgrams. It is what it is. A loss. When I was in high school Scott was 0-40. Simon Kenton wasn't much better as their male athletes were choosing cheerleading over a dismal football program. Please be careful what you wish for. You may get your shot at eating your own crow. Yes, we only have a mere 22 state titles tied for the most with another truly outstanding prgram. I only have a few questions while eating my crow. Do you know what it feels like to sacrifice so much and to be rewarded in december with a state title? Do you know what it feels like to have that patch sewn on your letter jacket? How it felt when you slipped that state champion ring on the first time? How was it meeting the governor in Frankfort? Shawn Alexander doesn't even know that feelng! Do you? If not, then you should try it sometime. Now my family only has 5 combined. Maybe you could should shoot for 1.

Congrats to Highlands on a great year, certainly nothing to hang your heads about. Congrats to Collins on a very well played game. You worked hard after last years loss and came back hungrier and earned your place in Kentucky HS football history. No sour grapes here, just admiration to a team preparing well and taking care of business.

Highlands will be back, of that I have no doubt.
