Murray Out, Bradshaw In At Campbell County

Oh. Ugly.

Can I ask what the offense would have been that warranted him being fired? The reason can't be because he didn't play a kid. What would CC have used as a reason?

Playing time is what started the witch hunt and that is a fact. They began looking for anything they could to use against him. You could find anything against a coach if u looked hard enough. What they found was a joke and did not warrant this what so ever. Not sure legally what I can put on this sight but I can PM you the exact things that they found.

I can tell you what they used is something that was twisted to make a case about him. When you find out, the event was done because he cares and his intentions were to do the right thing...because he cares. Not because of what they want you to think. I'm sure what they want you to think never even entered the man's head. We are talking about a good human being with a daughter on the team.

I was told just about a year ago that something was brewing and it could get ugly. Now 1 year later, it became reality. The thing they used to finally "get him" just happened this year. Its funny this someone saw this coming a year ago and maybe even longer than that and now here we are talking about it a year later.

It's a complete joke and I feel terrible for the young ladies.

I feel sorry for the daughter of the conniving parents/family. How will the other players treat her? Maybe the players can teach the parents how to act in a civil manner by not taking it out on the daughter.

This has been going on for 25 + year at CCHS and there is no end in sight….same family, same tactics, same outcome. Unfortunately until the administration at CCHS decides to not give this kind of power to parents it will remain the same. The tough part is that it puts some of the administration in a no win situation. You have to wonder how the AD handles the next sport parent complaint….

It is a complete joke and I am sad to be a Camel because of it.

Your not the only one. Lots of talk about it around the gym…..everyone just shaking their heads

If the parents unite and go to the proper people things could change. Key word here is unite. I have seen this work......call out the wrong, demand the right thing be done. Tell them if they do not do the right thing then you will get the TV stations involved about what is going on( TV always loves a good story). But you had better be ready to stay united.

It's funny you say this because the AD was nowhere in sight for this. Went straight to the super intendant and he forced the resigning. The AD should of handled this from the beginning but because the complaining family had some pull because of their status. It went straight to the SI. Sad that a school that is doing so good academically and has been getting great coaches that are making a difference in the athletics and now this black eye. Just when I felt we were making progress, this garbage happens.

I agree. This happened to Coach Murray's predecessor, Coach Cravens. Despite winning a regional and several district titles, certain Campbell Co. parents constantly complained until finally Coach Cravens just resigned, despite running a solid program for over a decade.

I too have seen this happen. Agree on being united.

Bad enough the family did this .I heard they had been spreading rumors also. Time for a lawsuit?

Well if this is the case, have the players, parents and all of those supporting Coach Murray thought of addressing the school board? If I am not mistaken doesn't the school board vote to renew the SI contract?? also, isn't the school board a group of elected officials??? Seems the voters/parents have a voice here.

Now, as for Coach Murray I am sure there may be some possibility of legal recourse that could be taken, but as I have stated in my previous post, "is it really worth it?" To work in a school system and administration such as this it just would seem not to be worth the cost and stress of fighting this. The continual outcry of support speaks volumes and that is what really matters. I am sure that there is any school that would love to have a person/educator/coach such as Coach Murray and as they say, "good things happen to good people", and as for the Campbell County Administration.....KARMA BABY!! what goes around come around!!

Phone calls were made to school board members and it was brought up at the school board meeting. I will say none of the school board or administrators are saying much. They hide behind the laws, by saying by law we are not allowed to speak on it. School board is saying nothing they can do about it by law. SI saying nothing he can do by law, Once he resigns the law prohibits him from being able to reinstate him. Who's right and who's wrong? Everyone is real big and strong behind closed doors but when the voters and community get in an uproar they scatter like roaches.

If all that is true, and you want change, then someone is gonna have to name names. Seems like most "in the know" know who it is anyway.

And exactly how does 1 family control a public school for 25 years? I could see that happening at a private school where money is changing hands, but a public one?

I will say there is nothing on this earth that surprises me anymore when it comes the extremes parents will go to because they believe dear little precious isn't getting enough playing time.
