This issue has been the "hot topic" of the 10th Region Girls at every gym I have been to this season. It continues to be a hot topic here as evidenced by the number of pages on the thread. While the parents did organize and collect signatures on a petition, if they really wanted to make it an issue they should take it, en masse, to the school board, with the media vans pulled up outside. Sometimes you have to fight fire with a fire bomb…it will never bring the coach back IMO for this situation, but it might send a message to the administration and school board that the parents "collectively" have a say in right and wrong. The hardest part of this whole situation is that Coach Murray has a daughter playing and I feel really bad for her. As for Coach Murray's part he has handled this far better than most would. He is gracious, and smiling and present…that alone speaks to this man's character and that in and of itself makes him a strong person. I'm sure his family is crushed by this, but he standing tall still. He will continue to be addressed as Coach whenever I greet him

Oh this scenario has been played over and over again at other schools too. It comes down to parents knowing they have the power to make the decision what kind of coach should be in the program. All it takes is just a few bad apples - I have seen it happen to so many GOOD coaches. They give their heart and soul (along with all their time) and get slammed by the administration because they have no guts to step forward and tell the parents - "I will not be bullied by you." And the AD (I don't know this one) is normally a wet noodle who is scared for his/her job so just falls in line with the administration. I have a lot of sympathy for Coach because all he did was care about the girls players and wanting them to achieve their dreams. BEWARE COACHES - if you really want to Coach, don't go to Campbell County. Not that some of the other schools are any better, but this one leaves a very sour taste in a lot of mouths. I expect to see this thing happen again and again until someone steps up to the plate and tells those parents - "You're OUT!"

Is it Bradshaw's fault? Did the girls quit on him or are the Camels just not that good? Have no clue about the talent level of the coaches or players, just asking a question.

The talent is waaaay better than 5-13. They have a ton of younger talent to go along with some nice older players. Not sure how good they could have been, but the talent is there. They definitely should have mades great strides this year and would have been pretty darn good next year. Heck who knows what happens now. Rumors of girls not playing next year and younger ones transferring out or not choosing CC as their high school. I think we'll all know once a coache is hired. The problem they are up against is, who in their right mind would want that job??

 

If what I'm hearing is true about some of the girls just focusing on other sports because of this debacle, then that's sad. A poor kid may end up not playing and probably regret it down the road all because of BS. Kids shouldn't have to make those kinds of decisions because of actions of adults. It crazy!

I agree that someone will take the job, but with that talent it would be a shame to see just anyone at the helm. With a good coach, they had promise. My point is, if they don't hire someone the parents have confidence in or "just anyone", how many will choose to not play or go elsewhere? It will be tough to hire a big name that the parents will have confidence in. They are on a short string with everything that has happened. In my opinion, it would have to be a coach that has high accolades, or you could see mass exodus. That will be hard for the school to do in the situation they are in.

It really is a sad situation at CC to watch such talent being brought down due to the "mental games" a set of parents caused!!! I'm sure in order for CC to find a coach, they will need to hire someone from outside the area & not a parent/coach!!! Regardless, if Mommy & Daddy still aren't satisfied with playing time, this will continue until the Princess graduates!! Amazes me how 1 family can have that much control while all the other players & families have zero control at all!!! Other schools should use this issue & learn from CC's big mistake!!! Coach Murray brought the spark back to CC & will no doubt revive the program at another school again one day!!!

We don't want just someone or anyone. We want someone that is going to push the girls and instill valuable life lessons in them. We had that in Coach Murray and unfortunately, like RCC9 said, who is going to want to come here and coach? Someone that wants a head coaching job with no experience or a puppet on a string. I would be highly surprised if a big name coach applied for this job or if Coach Bradshaw even applied for it because of all the :poop: he has had to deal with this year, which is a whole other story in itself. It's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out when the season ends? Who applies? Who comes back to play? If the young 8th graders stay or leave? The talent is there for this team to be successful for many years. Big question is how does it all shake out? Time will tell and unfortunately the girls are the ones suffering from all this. I have heard that too. And that is sad. They have grown up as CC girls and should be able to stay there. I can't say I blame them, but I feel bad for them and the program. It's just a shame.

That is at least a $20,000 decision if they leave the program for a private school. That is always a factor.
