I really don't think a certificate can be pulled for anything that is not an ethics violation or the breaking of a teaching contract. Coach Murray cannot have his certificate revoked because of "Alleged" poor coaching decisions or playing time.

 

I am not sure what the situation for teachers is in KY but I know in Ohio the teachers have a very powerful union behind them. Administrators are fearful of taking on the union and the union backs the teachers in almost all situations (except sexual misconduct, physical abuse, etc). Hopefully, Mr. Bradshaw has the support of the union so that his teaching certificate is protected.

From what I'm hearing, its not rumors. Not sure if it will go anywhere after an initial review, but I'm pretty sure it has at least been submitted. (pretty reliable source).

If good judgment was used from the beginning, this wouldn't be going on. Most people at CCHS know who I am, what I believe in and what I stand for and I won't hide from that. I didn't and I won't post names on here because its not fair to the kids or other family members not involved and I won't jeopardize a kids future. I just wish the people that caused this would felt the same way before they put Mike and his daughters thru all this mess. Don't kid yourself or anyone else saying there is more to it. The allegations are just that allegations. I definitely don't agree with your statement if the program is going to survive the parents need to let it go. This program has been set back at least 5 years. It has trickled down to other sports. The message sent to the parents is if you are unhappy with a coach, send emails, rant and rave, sling mud and bully the coach to get what you think your daughter deserves. Policies best change and change quick or its going to get worse before it ever gets better. I guess I'm old school, I want my kids to EARN what they get. Parents and players understand that Mike will not be back but want to make sure that this doesn't happen again. Have to install policies to protect coaches and teachers because some of the same has happened since, but Pandoras Box has been opened! So your saying we should just let it go? Continue to let the squeaky wheel get the oil? Guess Bobby Knight was right, us parents should just lay back and enjoy it. When I see policies changing and administrators putting a stop to some of the parents bull:poop: then I'll let it go. Letting it go now ensures that the future of CC girls basketball remains how its is now and doesn't change and teaches the girls not to stand up for what is right. Very well said! Thank you for all your comments throughout this post. We need folks to stand behind not only Coach Murray, but behind what is righteous so this doesn't happen again in the future. And by tucking our tails and not talking about it is NOT the way to ensure it doesn't happen again.

 

Heart Coach Murray and if I could I would buy one of those shirts the girl wore. It's a darn shame that such bull:poop: happened to begin with. The least we can do to show our support and backing, is keep this post going. I think someone stated that was the goal back in Oct when this all happened. It's great that we are standing behind each other, just wish we could do more to ensure such things that they put Coach Murray and his amazing family through NEVER happens to anyone else in that county. I don't have the answers as to how to fix it but I would support and do whatever I could, should someone have ideas as to what outsiders can do.

So you believe that there's more to it? So he can't coach and can't be around 20 kids but he can still teach and be around 350 kids. Makes no sense. You said "maybe" more to it, well I'm telling you for a FACT that there isn't more to it. If there was more to it, the school would have a lot of explaining to do to the parents for their reasoning of still allowing him to teach.

14C and others...coaches from around NKy thank you. This goes on everywhere. I am mostly familiar with volleyball. I can name four coaches in the last 8 years run out of high school volleyball because they didn't play the right kid. Most coaches walk away because it's not worth it. And most parents sit quietly because they are bullied into silence.
