mexitucky
What do you have against Regions rotating from year to year and everyone getting a chance to host postseason events every few years? Nothing, if it is in reason. There is no reason for every team to drive down to Grant County when Grant County isn't playing. For middle school, I believe that keeping it centralized (see a Kenton Co. school) would be much more fair, ESPECIALLY when you consider early start times for certain games. It was at Grant County two years ago and not one Grant County team was in it. Just how it goes some times.

Qryche11
Wow, what a comeback by Highlands 7th grade boys down 37-22 with 3:35 left in the game they come back to force OT. Brandon Finn started a 9-0 run with a stickback, Al Starkey nailed 2 FT's and Jack Hegge Driils a 3 and Starkey with another outback. All of the sudden it's 39-31. Austin King drills a 3 to make it 39-34. IHM gets a fastbreak layup to make it 41-34. Alex Starkey sticks it in for 2 and it's 41-36 with 1 min left. Birds start fouling and Coldiron makes 1/2 to make it 42-36 with 45 sec left. Hegge rushes a 10 foot floater, no good and IHM secures rebound. Birds foul and the IHM FT woes began. Missed both double bonus FT's and Jack Hegge drills a long 3 with 19 sec left making it 42-39. IHM forced to call TO as they can't get it in. Birds foul on inbound IHM makes 1/2 FT's making it 43-39 with 14 sec left. Hegge then Drills another long 3 to make it 43-42. Birds scramble to chase down dribbler and foul at halfcourt with 3.7 sec left. IHM misses 1st makes 2nd to make it 44-42. IHM calls timeout to set up a defense against the final inbound. Questionable timeout as it gave Birds chance to draw up a play. . Perfectly designed the Birds let Grady Cramer throw a beautiful baseball pass to a running Austin King who shoots a desperation 3 that goes long off the backboard right into Brandon Finn's hands who sticks it in at the buzzer forcing OT. Birds finish last 3:45 on a 22-7 run. Birds sub Ryan Leigh starts OT off with. 3 for Highlands then steals the inbounds pass missing a layup but Finn is there to get the board and he was fouled. Finn drills both FT's Birds are up 49-44. Coldiron scores for IHM and it's 49-46. IHM calls timeout with 58 sec left in OT. Birds Hegge is fouled with 35 sec left and makes both to make it 51-46. Birds foul shooter at other end and IHM makes 1/2 and it's 51-47. Forced to foul Birds sending Hegge back to the line where he makes 1/2. IHM misses and Grady Cramer rebounds with 12 sec left and he makes both FT's to give you the 54-47 final. kyag
Conner lost to Campbell County. Well played game the Camels have some good players. The Colts played hard, but in the end fatigue caught up with them. #13, Ginn named to all tourney team, the kid shot well and Campbell County had a hard time containing him. Camp had a good second half and Craddock comes off the bench and hits some big 3's. #3 Campbell for Conner hit a big 3 on a pull up to close the gap, but the Colts could not over come the good guard play of Campbell County. I still think Campbell County ends up in the finals... Check the last post by me...called the OT win for the Birds. The parent sitting next to me couldn't believe it (I should have dropped $20 on the game!)

Qryche11
Semis in 7th Grade Boys on Thursday night at Highlands. Highlands vs Gray Campbell Co vs Woodland The Birds will need to play better early to pull out a win against the bigger Gray squad. Campbell Co should take care of Woodland.
