I can't stop watching the replay.....Coach B-games reaction is absolutely priceless when Finn sticks it back. I knew White men couldn't jump!:lol2:

You're right about that... I hadn't noticed it, but Scott's reaction when the shot misses and then the putback rattles in is hilarious!

Heard there was an intentional foul called against HHS on a made basket by Conner. One FT was awarded. 2 should have been awarded.

That is accurate. I didn't think that call was correct at the time...

Here is the link to the video replay

.

A couple of things stand out... first, it was a pretty cheap intentional foul call... Austin King made a play on the ball, so whether that call should have been made is debatable, but, secondly, after the first free throw is awarded, there is no reaction from the IHM bench that there should have been a second one. I know its the officials' job to get the call right, and they didn't, but let this be a lesson to coaches about knowing the rules yourself...

The inbound attempt after the intentional resulted in a 5 second call. Was the ball being put in play at the right location? I thought it would be inbounded at mid-court.

I would agree should be half court, but what about the 5 Second Call? only 3.5-4 Seconds on Video and Ref isn't even counting????????????? Unreal!

The Ref in Question is a relatively new Ref to the system. He will get better with time. Not knowing 2 free throws should of been a joint decision by both Refs. So that is not totally his fault. While I don't disagree with the 5 second call being wrong. If you were to put a timer on it, the split second the ball leaves the Refs hand, he gets it right. It was exactly 5 seconds on the money. Not 3.5 or 4! Could be viewed a few different ways. Bust I'm going to get that Ref the benefit of the doubt going forward. He has forgotten more about Basketball than most of us will ever know. IMO!!!

The ball should have been inbounded at the spot of the foul.

I thought the leauge was using an assignor for games and using only certified HS refs? Is this not the case now?

7th Grade Boys Gray 48 Highlands 31

Gray Dominated Highlands from start to finish in the first semifinal.

Highland struggled from the field. Last night might have taken its toll on them. The two bigs #33 and #23 for Gray had no problems scoring early and often, while 15 for Gray ran the point very well getting to the rim all night. #12, #14 and #33 played well for Highlands, but just not their night.

Nice year for both teams. Gray moves on to the finals to play the winner of Campbell Co/Woodland who play the other semifinal game.

That is accurate. I didn't think that call was correct at the time...

I'll disagree with your view on the intentional. To me it was a no-brainer.

The inbound attempt after the intentional resulted in a 5 second call. Was the ball being put in play at the right location? I thought it would be inbounded at mid-court.

It was put in at the right spot. It's always at the spot nearest the foul.

You only put the ball in at midcourt on a T.

I would agree should be half court, but what about the 5 Second Call? only 3.5-4 Seconds on Video and Ref isn't even counting????????????? Unreal!

Two problems: 1. It was only 4 seconds. 2. He wasn't giving a visual count.

I'm sure he's a good official who is learning. This his how you learn.

The count was fast. You don't have 1 as soon as you hand the ball. You wait a second before you get to 1. I had the whistle right at 4. However, again, we don't know because he didn't show a visual count.

You all can over analyze a couple different calls that are pointed out but if you watch the entire tape and nitpick I'm sure you can find some that favored IHM. Bottom line, IHM couldn't finish the Birds off. Best comeback I have ever seen live.

In action tonight, Gray bigs were dominant. Not much you can do when Vince Rankin decides to take it strong to the hole, he is atleast 6'1 160lbs. The Bromwell kid has to go 6' 200+. Nobody on Highlands roster is even 5'10 and certainly not 200lbs. Hoping for a growth spurt this off-season because several are due.

Great year for Highlands 24-5 record.

Good luck to Gray vs Woodland who beat CC tonight 41-35.

An IHM dad said the exact same thing. Said they were 11/30 from the line. YIKES.
