Fitness thread! Let's finish out this year strong!

Down 27 pounds. I have until Monday for the contest. It is coming down to the wire between me and one other.

The others 3 that were close threw in the towel over Thanksgiving and our snow/ice break.

Great Job!

Great Job!

Thanks, it has gotten easier but it still is hard at times to pass up some of those high calorie foods.

Need a good Cardio routine that I can accomplish in the pool (Pool is from 3 feet to 4 1/2 feet deep)...right now I'm doing a LOT of running in place (High Knees), Crab Walks and arms only treading water. Got myself an early Christmas Present of a waterproof MP3 player...that could be a game changer because time just flew by with music to listen too.

I went harder today than any other day for longer than I have went...pushed myself as hard as I could for two hours with only a few 2 minute breaks. Then I get out of the pool and can barely walk let alone run or jog due to my weight. But I'm on my 4th week of working at it and I feel just a little bit better each day.

Thanks for the encouragement and PM's I've received.

Great job! Just awesome! I keep checking here for Jumper Dad updates. So glad to hear that you are still making progress.

I don't know of any pool workouts. Maybe you could find something on-line? The summer swim club that we go to has offered Aqua Zumba classes.

Try googling Aqua Zumba and you might find some pool workouts that you could then tailor to your sessions.

Keep going! Don't get discouraged and report back often!

Thanks that's a good idea.

Dang those are cheap. I'm kinda intrigued now.

Mine work great so far, I've loaded about 200 songs and there is room for a ton more. Only draw back is that it doesn't have a shuffle function, plays songs in same order over and over. You can go forward and backwards through the songs.

Trying to finish the year strong, but a nasty sinus infection getting in the way.

Pure cardio today. Felt pretty good. But still dragging.

My buddy and I worked out together today. He talked to one of the regulars that somehow is ALWAYS there when I am. The guys built like myself but with 6% body fat and 20 inch arms. He's probably mid to late 20's, friend of mine talked to him and he'd said he had put on 20 lbs in the past 3.5 weeks...... We didn't bother asking him what kind of supplements he is taking.....

He's full of it, you can't put that of mass on even with roids.

The horror continues

Since my last post

My calorie count has been under the predetermine amount needed to drop a pound a week according to my fitnesspal.com and I have not missed a cardio workout.

My weight is up three more pounds, to 205.

I'm bummed for you, ncf. I know this is not what you expected at all.

Have not worked out since Monday. Having a hard time kicking the upper respiratory crud.

But I also have no appetite and the scale is in my favor.

Hoping to ease back into the routine slowly this weekend.

The rest of you all---keep going strong! I'm cheering for you!

Somebody had to push this thread to the top, the day after Christmas!

C'mon people, wake up from your food coma and start moving!

Max cardio circuit today. Pretty much a challenge as I pretty much slipped out of shape over the past couple weeks.

But felt great to get it done.

Looking forward to getting back on track tomorrow.

I've honestly only missed 3-4 days at the gym since Thanksgiving week. Found out Monday I got the job I've been applying for almost a year. I've got just over a month to try to get in to a little bit better running shape before I head off to training for 18 weeks. I'm doing pretty good right now but I'd like to shave a minute or two off of my run times.
