Fitness thread! Let's finish out this year strong!

Featured Replies

I've honestly only missed 3-4 days at the gym since Thanksgiving week. Found out Monday I got the job I've been applying for almost a year. I've got just over a month to try to get in to a little bit better running shape before I head off to training for 18 weeks. I'm doing pretty good right now but I'd like to shave a minute or two off of my run times.

Congratulations on the job! That is awesome! Keep working toward your goal. It will happen.

No change even though I still have been under in calories and fat and carbs each day since my last post according to myfitnesspal.com and I have not missed any workouts.

Just signed up for a swim meet on Saturday. Due to my eye injury my swimming has been EXTREMELY sparse since July (~ 5 times). This should be interesting.

Another Jerk PR last night at 220lbs.

Registration for the CrossFit games open starts Jan 15, with the first work out released Feb 27.

Capped off the year, on NYE, the way I do every year by running 10 miles to celebrate another year of health. On New Years Day the weather was nice so I tagged along for a lighter 10 mile jog with the wife and a friend. My run on NYE was solid. I averaged a 7:47 pace and finished in 1:18 and some change but it wasn't nearly as challenging as it used to be to break 1:20. I like where my running is.

Now I will see how this detox will effect me. Taking off 4 days for the first time in a while. Probably good for me.

First workout of the new year was yesterday. My daughter and I did Max Cardio Conditioning and Cardio Abs. It was so fun to have a partner---except we were doing a lot of laughing, too! :lol2:

Still trying to define my fitness goals for 2014---will have to post that later.

Going to have house guests for the next 5 days so I hope to still get in a half hour each day.

Did not see a 2014 thread yet, so I opted to post on this one.

A very good tapout xt workout today.

If every day were like today... You'd weigh 174.5 lbs in 5 weeks

Are you using a calorie counter while working out? Or just adding calories from what the app estimates? If you're not using a counter then I would take the calories burned that the app gives you with a grain of salt. I only saw that because I know you said you haven't seen any losses lately and that may be why.

My fitness pal is very generous with calories burned.

Very, I only keep track of what I eat with it. I never add exercises to my day.

I use what the app says, which according to testimonials on the insanity forums and other cardio workouts we do, are a lot lower then that of the website.

I found this website

http://www.fitday.com/webfit/burned/calories_burned_Aerobic_high_impact.html

It says 471 per/hour, which is 129 more than the myfitness pal says, but less than the post on the insanity site says.

So confusing.

I only use this as a guide line.

I have found out if it says I will drop(example) 15 pounds in five weeks, I usually lose half of that.
