Richie seems to have several friends on the team supporting him. I wonder if Martin knew full well if he took such action against Ritchie that with these friends of Ritchie's, it would not have been one on one but instead twelve on one and he would have gotten pummeled?

 

Not saying that is the case but just wondering. With the testosterone driven, mucho Oscar Mayer Bologna attitude on NFL teams I could see a pack mentality forming where the quieter, more introverted guys could be targets.

The NFL locker room is not nor should ever be treated as any other profession. It seems it has its own rules and codes and if you can't follow them then you shouldn't play. That seems to be the common theme from football players speaking out on the matter of how to handle things properly in the locker room.

Exactly in most other proffesions new hires are taking the team out for a 4-5 figure dinner bill. That would be theft. But it is a common practice in proffesional sports.

 

I'm not excusing what Richie did. But I can't understand how anyone who played competitive sports could not have a problem with how Martin has handled this situation.

So telling the team you need a leave and taking it isn't reporting it to superiors. I'm guessing that wasn't the first mention of some problems. I'm just saying I don't blame him for assessing the situation and cooling off instead of going into the locker room and doing something stupid. So he walks into the locker room and just sucker punches Incognito, whose a team captain. If that's how it goes down, we may be reading about "Rookie Martin Cut After Punching Teammate" and he's looking for a job while everyone second guessing the situation is talking about how stupid it was of him to do something like that.

 

I don't feel sorry for Richie Incognito. He's a dirty player who has a history of trouble and most of those outside the situation who look at it objectively are saying they aren't surprised.

I think all you macho men and your workplace violence need to take a step back. Maybe Martin has depression or other mental problems. A guy who worked hard enough to make the NFL is not going to walk away without a reason. Incognito, on the other hand has "roid " rage. Speaking for women, we like the NFL, but this behavior is a black eye.

Incognito is a scum bag and Martin is a 300lb cry baby. The fact that this story has owned the news cycle since it started is a joke.

There has to be more to this. I feel like some info will eventually come out and make people realize how bad teammates were towards Martin. Also for some reason there seems to be a front the Dolphins organization is putting up. There is no way every single Dolphin could defend what happened in there. Incognito may be the scapegoat as well.
