Who is advocating violence?

 

You and Lipton are two that come to mind. You guys keep saying "confront him". Do you guys really not know how bullying works? He confronts him, it's 100% ending in a fight. It'd do a lot more harm for Martin than good.

There's been lots of players in other locker rooms that have said what Richie was doing was completely over the line, and doesn't go on elsewhere.

 

Same reason the kid in middle school who's getting bullied never has anyone stand up for them. They'd rather ignore it than risk being another victim.

Well since obvisously you don't advocate standing up for yourself and apparently were a door mat growing up. Let me tell you from experience. In most cases in lockerroom confronting may mean you get in someones face but rarley does it result in any serious violence. Normally the rest of the team respects the player for standing up for himself and step in before things get to serious.

Actually, not too far off. I'd say 95% if not more of people that play high division 1 college football and NFL football are for lack of a better term, morons. You have to be either crazy or stupid to play football beyond the high school level. JMO.

I don't even think it's that. It's about a culture that says that this behavior is not only acceptable... it's necessary. This isn't schoolyard bullying, it's something else. And whatever it is, it's unacceptable for grown men, whatever their job is.

You can't compare middle school aged kids to grown men. That's where you misconstrue the whole concept of bullying. Any ADULT who allows another adult to bully them is getting what they deserve. You better act like you are grown.

You had the same point of view as me on the CC runner. I also said I admired her for standing up for her beliefs, simply I thought they were silly. Standing up for a religious belief during a race is not even in the same realm as standing up to a bully and getting your butt kicked, then having the bullying intensify. What good does that do?

He may be shocked by us but I guarantee you I'm way more appalled by his advocating a lack of backbone.
