Purple was always my favorite kind of kool-aid.

Sounded like Mccallie was playing a little dirty toward the end of the first half.....just from reading on here. What happened?

 

Congrats BG!!! I believed in you guys from the start, great team!!! Actually ever since you beat us in the title game last year, knew you were one of the best ive seen in awhile

From what I saw and heard, BG was mad the refs were not calling late hits late in 2nd quarter and it spilled over at halftime. BG coach and refs talking intensely. Then Blackman coaches comes over and I imagine say just play football. Then the two head coaches had to be seperated. VERY intense! I heard BG coaches who scouted Blackman film said they mouth off and get away with alot of late hits. I think BG coach was setting the tone to call those acts in the second half.

 

After listening to the game again on my way home, 1 Blackman TE/LB.(team vocal senior leader that looks like a young Ray Lewis) got 4 Unsportsmanlike penalties called on him in 2 consecutive possession (1 on defense and the next 2 on BGs next offensive possession). Thats 60 yards of penalties in 2 straight drives and BG siezed the momentum off that. Game was chippy, but really just good physical football except for those plays. I wouldn't say dirty because I don't think BG players were hurt.

So excited for BG...way to represent.....a little repsect for our Commonwealth....love it!!!

Man, what an atmosphere on the field after the game and the Blackman crowd went home...you would have thought we had just had a huge upset to make it to a championship game for the first time! People were all over milling about in celebration, all smiles. Mrs PH and I waited our turn patiently to see Nacarius Fant during his myriad of impromptu interviews. When he finally saw us, it was the biggest smile I've seen from him in a long time! He gave both of us a huge hug!

 

When the guys came back out on the field after halftime, I told them to let them play their "game"...you just play The Purple Way. It worked, and a whole bunch of elated players agreed after the game!!

 

If you'd have told me at the beginning of the day that this thread would be somewhat buried in the discussion, I'd have been shocked.

Got a huge hug from Blue Tisdale too. His hug was so hard it almost crushed my glasses!!

I never understood how a player could have 3 or even 4 unsportsman like penalties and not be thrown out of a game. At least in BBall you only get 5 fouls in college lol.
