The most points ever scored by Highlands in one game AND the most points ever surrendered by Highlands in one game involved the same opponent -- Holmes!

 

Highlands lost to Holmes 77-0 in 1920. Eighty years later, the Birds would get their revenge by blanking the Bulldogs 81-0.

 

Obviously, these games also marked the widest margins of both victory and loss for the Birds.

Every time WC got the ball they would break a 40 plus yard run. Highlands usually had to drive down the field.

Score was really 41-7.

H subbed for 3 quarters.

H had half it's team eating gold star chili with some of the Bengals during 3rd quarter.

Concern of a possible loss??? You guys are saying the game was never in jeopardy.. From all indications it very much so was. And with all of Highlands' depth, should 5 starters sitting out really matter? I mean seriously.

 

So there was a slight chance they could lose this game. Do you really think the HHS coaching staff wont sleep tonight because now they think they cant win state. IT WAS 41-7 LET ME REPEAT 41-7 If Dale wanted to keep the foot on the pedal he could have won this game by a ton but he chose to keep a lot of the Jv players in on D and WC offense have some serious speed out there.

The game so only in doubt if HHS would not have recovered the onside kick at the 2 minute mark, or not gotten the 1 first down to ice the game.

 

It was obvious that the kids being asked to fill in tonight playing defense could not match the speed or strength of the WC group. As another poster said, this was not the same unit that battled Elder to end last week.

 

Bright spot- the play of Seth Hope. He had many tackles tonight. Some were 20 yards downfield chasing ball carriers down from behind. WC was best served by running wide, when they got the corner - it was over.

 

Disappointed in HHS offense in the 4th qtr. It seemed to stall a bit. Punted once, settled for a field goal, and turned it over on downs inside the WC 10. We get so used to watching them finish drives with TDs that getting no points is a let down.

 

I cannot believe that there were no adjustments on defense to stop WC from getting to the edge..

Yeah. They missed the whole 4th quarter against Central. Whole JV team is my understanding. Held them to 0 points.
