This thread is nothing short of dreadful. Can we talk about the darn game?

 

Not much to talk about Clyde. Highlands jumped out to a 41-7 lead and subbed a bunch.

 

People look at the score and think it was close. But it really wasn't. Highlands rested half their defense.

To those who think Highlands stepped off the gas pedal, I do not know what game you were watching. The offense subbed no one that does not normally get snaps. The defense started guys that quite frankly were totally overmatched from play number 1 and they were not subbed in. Defense did a little substituting, but big issue was the kids not playing that were injured.

 

As for SK, I continue to say put on your big boy pants and tell your coach any day, any time, any where. Don't use tonights game as a barometer and think that is what you get every week. That week Elder team would be no match for your boys from Independence. Obviously Trinity is down quite a bit, so maybe SK has a chance this year.

Your right and wrong. First, on the right side, Highlands won't win 6A. On the wrong side, neither will SK.

You can make the claim it wasn't as close if it seems if it ends as a 2 TD loss and was a 35 point lead. But you can't use it when a team wins by 2. That's cause for legitimate concern.

Hoge played the whole game played really good. Harris played good also.

Concern for what?......So Warren Centrals offense is 39 points better than Elders....no that wasnt the same HHS team on D....lord people it was 41-7 at one point. I give WC credit they played hard for 4 quarters but if they played next week running clock if they want.

Abner, Urlage, Wrobleski, and Bardo did not play. Gall got hurt early in the game.

 

For those keeping count, that is 3 or the 4 DB's and Wrobleski plays a hybrid safety/LB.

Concern of a possible loss??? You guys are saying the game was never in jeopardy.. From all indications it very much so was. And with all of Highlands' depth, should 5 starters sitting out really matter? I mean seriously.

Hoge played the entire game at QB. Not sure of his stats, but they were huge I am sure.

 

Not sure where Skinner gets his information to put that Austin Hergott was starting tonight.

 

Harris ran the ball really well. His seond or third effort on a run was the play that sealed the game for the Birds

 

Not sure who all was out on the D-Line or LB's, but DB's were definitely playing with guys that played in the JV game against Elder last week.

 

The only time it was in doubt was when Warren Central scored to draw within 2 with about 2 minutes to play in game. Tried an onside kick that went out of bounds and Zack Harris ran three straight times to gain 10.5 yards and it was ballgame. Warren Central had burned all of their timeouts at that point.

 

Doubt it. More like 2 weeks at a minimum. Playing Boyd County should enable the Birds to get a running clock and get their JV and Frosh into the game early.
