I would start a new thread about the punishment, beginning with that release.

2. Fairview’s second-place district finish in 2013 will be vacated and the team will not be permitted to participate in the 2013 KHSAA football playoffs. The vacated game between Fairview and the third-place team from the opposite district will be considered a forfeit by Fairview. No adjustments will be made to the district standings or playoff schedule of any other team in the two affected districts.

 

So that means the third place finisher in District 8, which hasn't been decided yet due to tiebreakers, but will likely be Allen Central, will automatically move ahead in the postseason and will play the Pikeville/Nicholas County winner.

 

I'm very surprised the teams in District 7 didn't automatically move up. With District 8 still undecided, its not as if teams in District 7 will have spent too much time game planning for the playoffs. It would appear that Paintsville and Nicholas County are also being punished for the sins of Fairview.
