Every principal in the JCPS makes a minimum of 100,000K. Then each high school usually has three assistant principals make $85,000+ to start.

 

Back in the 1920s, Ashland was on probation for several violations.

The Tomcats battled the KHSAA often. One head coach left Ashland on probation and came to Louisville to coach Male, Manual, or St.X. I can't recall the details. :popcorn:

 

Not sure what any of that has to do with what is going on at Fairview? I had no idea the khsaa even existed in the 1920's, that's an interesting tidbit.

 

I'm curious what Ashlands violations were and if it was before or after they won the national championship. But its off topic so ill leave it alone.

The $118k that I mentioned doesn't inclued Musick's rental income.

Just jumping in this thread and don't know the whole situation, but giving clothing to high school kids isn't really something that makes my blood boil. If putting clothes on my back is something that is enough motivation to make me switch schools, especially to a school in a new state, then maybe that says something about the situation I'm leaving. If providing basic necessities that plenty of people take for granted (i.e., food, shelter, and clothing) to a kid whose a good athlete breaks the rules, it still doesn't mean that it isn't the least moral course of action in my book. I know there's a line where necessity turns into excess, but if their biggest issue is giving some clothes to a kid that would need them and wear them, then I have no beef. Just food for thought.

 

Wasn't really about the clothes if you know what I mean and that comment was referring to there have been some ncaa teams/coaches get a minor violation tabbed to them for giving recruits shirts caps, etc.. Plus, some have lived in the Superintendent's rental homes so there is your "Shelter", some are driven back and forth from Huntington to Westwood so there is your "transportation", so you tell me if you believe that Fairview has an "humanitarian dept." and just randomly chose this appt. / housing complex. LOL

From what a parent of a child in that school system said a couple of the mothers of the players from out/state were given jobs, now employed by the Fairview School system. I wonder had their son's not went there to play football if they would have heard of a job opening at a small school in another state ?

 

As I said before I would be surprised if the KHSAA will do anything bc of the OH. and W.VA kids/translants. From the same person that told me of the other "questionable" methods I heard that an Asst. Football coach was hired, is now the "Legal Guardian" of a couple of these players and is bringing them back and forth so that may be legal. Truth is that the entire Fairview School System is really bad/messed up in just about every dept..

 

WLGC Radio announced this a.m. that the KHSAA had just about completed the investigation and may be announcing any and what Sanctions today or Friday. Nothing was reported on the news today so we may hear something tomorrow (Friday).

I'd think if that person is the legal guardian then the players must be physically living in his house. At least in all the cases I've seen of legal guardians being used the child actually has lived at the house.

Just my prediction......forfeit of games that the kid/transfer from Ashland played in for 2012 and this, 2013 seasons. Fairview I believe has already paid their $$ fine for the violations, the head coach (N. McPeek is gone, the principal, A.D., Asst football coach (all one person-G. McPeek) has been removed from all three positions and placed in an elementary school in the district as a P.E. teacher. So, I think that the forfeiture of the games that I listed will be the only added sanctions. JMO

 

What I fell that "should" happen is all the above with the addition of All games, back to the first year that W.VA player C. Jennings was brought in by this superintendent (then head coach to principal) to this seasons team that had W.VA kids playing w/ benefits like housing, jobs to family, transportation provided to be forfeited. And NO, I don't think that will happen.

Would be the school board, site based council call on relieving any and/or all asst. football coaches and most of all....asking for the Superintendent's resignation but I would want that "if" I were a Fairview Schools Board member. and I Thank the Good Lord that I am Not ! :thumb:

Ok, I would like to place my prediction on this. The KHSAA will ok the self imposed sanctions that Fairview has recommended. And here is what I think it is;

1. Forfeiture of 18 games

2. Resignations of both McPeeks

3. No playoffs this year

4 4 years probation

Just read the article, nothing is official until the KHSAA presents their findings, but Musick expects a post season ban, among other things. He also threw everyone under the bus and came out smelling like a rose.

KHSAA ruling for Fairview football violations expected today

WESTWOOD — Fairview superintendent Bill Musick has been playing the waiting game along with everyone else.

 

The wait is nearing an end.

 

Musick expects the Kentucky High School Athletic Association to hand down a ruling this morning regarding the Fairview football program after its investigation of the school for playing an ineligible player all of last season and part of this season.

 

Musick believes the sanctions will include the following: a fine, forfeits and a four-year probation.
