Braves Are Tired of Being Shown Up After Homeruns

Don't throw a beach ball across the plate at the first at-bat and you don't have anything to worry about. :lol2:

You think he wasn't trying to get him out? Homeruns are part of the game. So are strikeouts. I'm with McCann on this. You show my pitcher up and act like an idiot and I'll be waiting for you.

Striking him out wouldn't be enough. Malholm would have to strike him out, scream as loud as he could when he did it, maybe even a fist pump or some other action and then start walking toward Gomez and yelling at him the whole time Gomez is walking back to the dugout.

I was being very sarcastic. Striking someone out isn't retaliation for anything.

Counting this year' date=' 16 division titles. They appeared in the World Series 5 times out of the 15 prior titles, winning once. I don't think it's the World Series appearances they're usually given flack for, it's not winning it all more with the dominant staff. They did fail to make the World Series the last 6 times they won the division.[/quote']

And when you say "they" you mean the organization. Because no one on this team played on any of those teams except McCann.

Yes, that's what I meant.

Or he could have just hit him again since Gomez is batting almost .500 against him. It's obvious when Maholm isn't throwing at Gomez to hit him then Gomez is lighting up his pitching. I'm trying to figure out how any sane person wouldn't treat Maholm the same way.

I'd have called his mama while rounding the bases, put her on speakerphone and then ask her if she saw me abusing her baby's pitching. Again.

Waiting for him with what? A frown? He didn't do anything. Yeah, that will really show him...

The good old unwritten rules of baseball where it is okay for a pitcher to bean a guy(twice) he can't get out but when the batter gets the best of the pitcher and admires his moon shot it's a problem.

McCann was waiting on him in full catcher's gear blocking the plate on a home run.

He is a tough guy.

Yep. Stupid.

Y'all can have Brian McCann on your team. Take Reed Johnson too. Peas in a pod is what I see. One guy uses his older manager as a shield and the other starts fights in full catcher gear. Bunch of tough guys.

Ladies and gentlemen...your 2013 Atlanta Braves......

VOR, I'm still waiting to hear how awful you thought it was for Puig to slide into home after his HR against the Reds earlier this season. That was 10x worse in terms of showing up the other team.

I just don't get how you guys have zero problem with Maholm drilling Gomez multiple times because he can't get him out, but think Gomez was so out of line for reacting the way he did when he hit one to Milwaukee.

What was he supposed to do? Grab a bat and murder him in cold blood at home plate?

Nah, I think the best thing is strike Gomez out and then act the way I described above. Maholm has struck out Gomez more times than Gomez has hit HR's off him.

Not acted like an idiot would've been a good start...
