September 26, 201312 yr This was two weeks ago. McCann goes yard, looks at it, and is BARELY around first base by the time it lands. Was he running too slow, or nah?
September 26, 201312 yr If my teammate started it I'm going to back my teammate and make sure he doesn't get whipped. I'm not going to disregard the facts just because he is my teammate. I'm also not going to upset our team chemistry. It's obvious my teammate is doing enough of that on his own. So now Maholm is upsetting team chemistry?

September 26, 201312 yr I would love to hear how Reds fans would react if it were their team in this situation. Guarantee there wouldn't be such the uproar. While not necessarily similar, a couple years back when Chapman did his somersault after a save, the vast majority of Reds fans on here criticized him harshly. I also don't think many Reds fans had an issue with Molina's actions when the whole BP thing went down.
September 26, 201312 yr No? He took off immediately. Not to mention, you could only see him hop after he swung... Not much difference than your Gomez video.
September 26, 201312 yr So now Maholm is upsetting team chemistry? Not what I said. I was speaking in a general term how my reaction would be if my pitcher was beaning a guy he couldn't get out and one day that guy hits another homer off of my pitcher and then 'shows him up'. In other words, I wouldn't act like McCann and IMO that doesn't make me a bad teammate and I wouldn't act like McCann just to be considered a good teammate.

September 26, 201312 yr Not much different? :lol2: In the amount of time it took each to round 1st base, no... There isn't much difference.
September 26, 201312 yr The Braves have the best record in the NL. If they're losers what's that make everyone else? Not as of today, sweetheart.
September 26, 201312 yr VOR, I'm still waiting to hear how awful you thought it was for Puig to slide into home after his HR against the Reds earlier this season. That was 10x worse in terms of showing up the other team. Sorry, if you posted that question in here, I must have missed it. For me, what Gomez did is much worse than Puig sliding into home plate. A goofy moment of excitement, that is cool. Blatant premeditated, exagerrated pimping that has nothing to do with a moment in winning the game, not good.
September 26, 201312 yr I just don't get how you guys have zero problem with Maholm drilling Gomez multiple times because he can't get him out, but think Gomez was so out of line for reacting the way he did when he hit one to Milwaukee. I do have a problem with Maholm hitting Gomez. If Gomez had flipped his bat and smacked his hands and started his HR trot, I would have no problem with that. I think Gomez went way overboard and got the reaction from the Braves he deserved.
