If you want me to believe Gomez is the one solely wrong in this incident then yes, they should have let him look like an idiot. All people would talking about today is what an idiot Gomez is.

 

I never said he was the only one in the wrong but many people acted like the Braves instigated the whole thing when video clearly shows that Gomez started the whole thing by mouthing off after the home run.

 

McCann did what he felt he needed to do as a veteran leader on the team. I can't say that I'd want my team to act that way over the incident but I can certainly understand him doing it nor do I have a problem with it.

Do you all think there should be rules about leaving the dugout for these things? It seems to be way too commonplace. On the onehand I think it's ridiculous how many "fights" occur with teams rushing out, but on the other if you banned it entirely you're kinda leaving the batter out there to dry if he's the only guy with 9 players from the opposing team.

I think they could enforce like how the NBA does. If they leave the dugout it's a suspension.

But what do you do for the guy that's out there 1 on 9? I don't foresee a scenario where 9 guys decide to attack the one (it's usually the batter charging the mound after all), but what if? Surely someone would be expected to come protect the guy.

The Braves are all Bush League d-bags. I thought it was awesome when he hit the homerun and gave it back to them for hitting himj with a pitch his previous game. Remember the Braves were also the ones who beaned Bryce just because he was Bryce.

What the video doesn't show is why Gomez acted like that (btw he appologized for it also and even went to the B raves clubhouse to personally do so, something the chump braves would never do) He was hit by a pitch on purpose in the prvious game bat. That is why he acted like he did and if I were him and saw the catcher blocking the baseline I would of ran him over.
