It's not speculation that if McCann doesn't say anything it's a non-issue? How does it make sense that McCann says something so Gomez's reaction is to start yelling at Maholm?

His "making a scene" was "admiring" the home run... Who does that really hurt? What's more dangerous... Throwing at a guys knee, or admiring a home run?

 

Fine, I'll be clearer. It is my opinion that Gomez was still going to have words for Maholm as he rounded the bases. I don't really care about the admiring thing. I thought it was stupid when they got upset about Harper doing it, stupid when they got upset about whoever it was on the Marlins that did it. So I'll grant you that McCann should've kept his mouth shut about him needing to run. That stuff is played out.

These guys know how and where to move at the sound of the bat. You're telling me they get confused on the direction of something shouted at them?

Then you had Freeman start mouthing off at Gomez as he gets to first, then McCann playing fake tough guy. They all need thicker skin. Well there's a good chance that's who they're going to be playing in the NLDS.

 

I think if we were talking about August, I might be more inclined to agree. But the hitting has not gone well in the last month since Heyward went down, and the Braves don't have the ace pitching they used to.

I disagree with the bold 100%. So basically, you don't care how anyone reacts after a HR? What if he stood on home plate and started screaming before he even ran? What if he walked around the bases yelling look at me the whole way? Is there any post HR act that would bother you?
