That kid can play. He lit up John Hardin's defense like a Christmas Tree.

Barker may have the qb edge with those who vote but in my opinion the qb from highlands (even BG qb) should get the nod.

 

Fant at BG has my vote. He potentially can break the all-time reception yardage for Ky. If that happens you have to give it to him. The problem is the next 3 games he will be done at halftime due to running clock. Every game he plays the entire game his numbers are crazy. If (hopefully when) Purples reach finals he will light it up. I hope they can make it and play Conner. They will beat the tar out of them.

A month ago I felt like it was Barker's to lose. I still lean Barker but Fant's numbers and his legend is only rising at this point. I think it is between those two.

I think John Hardin's early loss is going to hurt Elam, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him in the conversation, especially if it's seen as something that helps out UK in recruiting. Very tough for a defensive player to win. Not unheard of, but rare. The fact that Barker is in the mix makes it really really tough for Elam.

It's not the teams losses or the fact he plays defense that hurts Elam's chances. It's the fact that anyone who has seen him play will not vote for him. He is a great prospect, but not yet a great player.

One thing that I think a Mr. Football should do is play with class and the 2 times that I saw him play this year he didn't. For the past 2 years my son has played him he said that Barker had the best sportsmanship that he had played against. He sacked him twice last year and helped him up and Barker told him good hit and this year he knocked him down again but the things Barker had to say I can't mention on this thread. I don't think it is all his fault but when you score a touchdown and your jumping up in the defenses face and running your mouth be your not down in the game. But like I started to say it isn't all his fault when you have your announcer introducing you as your next Mr. Football is pretty bold statement when your only 3 games into the season. If you want to represent Ky as Mr. Football then show some class and win with class.

Sounds like a couple people have sour grapes about the loss.

If Mr Football is supposed to be the best player..how is the Harris kid from berea not in the mix. Best player I've seen this year and probably the last 15.
