I think Trinity's Bonnafon could have made a much stronger case, but has some things going against him. First, had the early part of the schedule gone well, things may be different. Secondly, a Trinity player won it last year (James Quick). This shouldn't factor into the voting, but you know it's probably something that does. Third, he didn't play the quarterback position until this year. While this shows his versatility, it probably meant there was a good chance he would have the exceed the number of accolades he's gotten as is.

The sheer numbers aren't as impressive as Fants, but that's because Scott County runs the ball 50 plus times a game. 8 TD receptions on 18 catches. 14 scores all-purpose on 38 touches (8 receiving, three rushing, three return).

 

If there was a statistic for the impact he has on the game, Scott Daniel's would be off the charts...
