August 12, 201313 yr I don't think big Pat is worried about Barker. The mobil QB seems to be the rage so I'll go with Whitlow starting, although his decision making and accuracy are awful. If Pat transfers, that will be the reason, not Drew. I do not believe that Whitlow will win the QB job if his accuracy and decision making are as awful as you state, that is unless the other QB's are worse. Those two skills will more than likely be the determining factors in deciding who the starter is....
August 12, 201313 yr In all reality, it might be better in the long-run to lose the QB spot at the beginning of the season. Kentucky is in serious trouble and being the starting QB for the first couple weeks might not be as glamorous as it sounds.

August 12, 201313 yr Author I could be wrong, but I just don't think he went to UK with his football legacy being his number one priority. If he did then sure he may transfer, but I just don't see that being the case. That makes sense. I wish him well. I hope he ends up on the field and if he doesn't then I hope he is happy. It's always good to see the Ky kids shine.
August 13, 201313 yr I think all 4 guys see some substantial playing time this year. I think Whitlow starts off the bat, but after that it will be interesting. Even if Towles doesn't start, he will have plenty of opportunities in the season. Plus I think the real battle is for 2nd string. Will it be. smith or Towles? The 2nd string will most likely get formations for him specifically, sort of Spurrieresque. With Towles howitzer I see that happening for him to air it out deep.
August 13, 201313 yr Author Does Towles have the strongest arm on the team? Is Sheehan still on the team?
August 13, 201313 yr Does Towles have the strongest arm on the team? Is Sheehan still on the team? Strongest arm with the slowest release.
August 13, 201313 yr Strongest arm with the slowest release. How hard is it to change your release? Why can't he just shorten it? In baseball mechanics are always changed in pitching. Why can't it be the same in football? What's the deal with Towles not changing his release?
August 13, 201313 yr I think all 4 guys see some substantial playing time this year. I Barring injuries, no way all 4 play.

What's the deal with Towles not changing his release? Lets ask Tim Tebow why, with the best coaching in the world the last three years, he can't shorten his release. It's not easy.

Kentucky is in serious trouble and being the starting QB for the first couple weeks might not be as glamorous as it sounds. So you would rather be QB against Louisville, Florida, Bama, and SC? That is a 5 week stretch for UK after the first couple of weeks.
August 13, 201313 yr Strongest arm with the slowest release. That's what I have heard: slow release. I think Whitlow gets the starting job.
August 14, 201313 yr Stoops said that if Whitlow is not the starter they will find a spot for him on the field. I still think he will be the starter if it's not Smith.
