September 3, 201313 yr this seems to be getting closer in some aspects to Pike. I guess I'm dense, but in what aspects is this situation getting closer to Pike? I'm struggling to find any similarity whatsoever, so I'm sure I'm missing something.

I guess the stretch that am going for is 2 big tall prototype QB's from Northern Ky. are not playing QB in Division 1. I've read on here all about the reasons why for Pike, but don't understand why Towles isn't starting this season or why they recruited Barker with Towles,Smith and Whitlow all on board. Understand reasons for backups, like they say if you have two starting QB's, you have none

PT (who last I checked is STILL a QB) is and still has 3 years of eligibility left. His story has not been written yet. Why are we already making a final determination?

September 4, 201313 yr I understand John Anthony's point. When people question whether or not Towles will transfer since he isn't the starter and doesn't look to get playing time in his UK career at this point(whether he is one of Joker's guys or not) the answer is, "Pat enjoys being at UK and will never transfer just because he isn't playing." John Anthony is saying Towles has the skill set to play immediately and is good enough to be the starting QB but if the answer to why he isn't the starter in John Anthony's eyes is that it has to be mental. Pat is in a fraternity, he's enjoying life at UK, he loves UK, he'll never leave even if he never gets to start or play. Those are posts in this thread. I think the better question is John Anthony's assumption. Is it a mental thing with Towles? Everybody feels he has the talent. Well said clearly he loves UK and dreamed of going to UK while at Highlands. I've seen him throw at Bengal coaching clinics at PBS and wow Coach Lewis. Lorenzen, his QB coach has said on multiple occasions that he has all the tools. He just has to grow/mature and break all of his tools out. People questioned him redshirting last year, now a year later everyone expected it from camp. I think he will be ok and get a long hard look next year and hopefully, he takes the job by storm. But the talent level coming in is getting better, all of the current guys on the roster will have to stand out or are gonna be stuck blending in on the sidelines in a few years.
September 4, 201313 yr So if he redshirts this entire season he will have 3 years of eligibility left? If they pull the redshirt mid season say he will only have 2 years left? Wasn't he redshirted last season and had it pulled?' date=' can't really remember. If I were him and wasn't named the starter this season,(wasn't he ranked as high or higher than Barker coming out of high school?) I would go on and transfer, other wise this seems to be getting closer in some aspects to Pike. There just seems to be something wrong with this picture, maybe not?[/quote'] Pike.. Wow Lord no. It's just taking Pat some time to adjust to college football. Lets see where he is in 2 years and we will know a lot more about his college football career. Regardless, he loves being a mbr of the student body and will get a degree. Hopefully, its all clicking and he's lighting up the scoreboard in a few years also. I can tell you first hand Braxton Miller wanted to redshirt at OSU his frosh year, he felt overwhelmed and wasn't ready but had to go in. He just now feels comfortable in year 3. Pat has time for football and should get his chance in the next year or two if he's ready to take it.
September 7, 201313 yr Towles on sideline today with a huge brace on right elbow. Heard he has a staph infection. Does this almost guarantee a red shirt year?
