I don't know much about Towles, but I thought he was the heir apparent to start at QB for UK. Was he over hyped or were Whitlow/Phillips/Smith under hyped?

I do, only because of Barker coming in.

 

 

Maybe a different story had Joker not screwed UK over, that's exactly what he did IMO, when he played Towels at the end of the season thus removing his redshirt.

 

 

 

 

With Barker, Smith, and Whitlow, on for next year along with Reese Phillips, and whoever else comes in next year I just don't see Towels staying.

 

I don't think big Pat is worried about Barker. The mobil QB seems to be the rage so I'll go with Whitlow starting, although his decision making and accuracy are awful. If Pat transfers, that will be the reason, not Drew.

I do agree that Whitlow winning the job will be more of a reason for Towles to transfer. I also agree with John Anthony that Barker is the first QB Stoops has brought in for his systems and I cannot help but feel like Barker will get more of a chance to win the starting job in 2014 than whoever the non-starters of 2013 end up being.

In my opinion the only reason Towles transfers is if he thinks doing so could some how get him a shot at starting after sitting out a year and then getting good enough to eventually make an NFL roster or practice squad. With that said, I don't think he transfers.

IMO that's irrelevant. You still have to perform. They will probably bring in really good QBs every year so every year is a battle.

Def not irrelevant, that's why they have been recruiting so hard to get their kinda guys in their system. As soon as Urban got to OSU most of JT's guys were on notice and a portion are now gone.

 

Wasn'tJared Lorenzen was brought in to do a job also? I don't follow UK football that much.

I could be wrong, but I just don't think he went to UK with his football legacy being his number one priority. If he did then sure he may transfer, but I just don't see that being the case.
