I would assume suspension (now that school is out) means no access to school facilities, no coaching, etc. I hope that everything can be worked out and coach is able to return to the sidelines. However, in the event this thing goes south, it would be a sad and disappointing ending. Best of luck, Coach!

From what I understand Coach Fookes is not at school teaching and she is not having any contact with her basketball team and their off-season workouts.
May 23, 201313 yr Author Wasn't she retiring as a teacher anyway? That is my understanding but I believe her retirement and her recent absence are unrelated. I was told recently she was retiring from teaching, she would continue to coach, and her teaching spot would be filled by Jon Smith.

I have no idea on the punishment. From what I understand a student stole a cell phone from another student in one of Coach Fookes' classes and Coach Fookes did her own investigation to find the cell phone/perpetrator. While I believe Coach Fookes had the best of intentions I believe the school made a decision that Coach Fookes was too aggressive with the suspects in pursuit of the cell phone.
