Good morning everyone, hope that you and your families had a safe Memorial Day weekend. Heard some interesting news over the weekend. Interviews will be taking place on Tues., Wed., and Thurs. this week. They are going to interview 6 coaches for the position. Hope to have coach in place by June 1st. No names were given sorry, but if I hear more I will get back to you.

Has anyone heard if Tyler Carr is coming back?

I heard from good authority that he is leaving but time will tell.

I have heard the same thing. 3 destinations. SK, Scott Co. or Shelby Valley. Hope that he stays at Grant. Kids leaving places their Senior year never works out very well.

After speaking with a member of the family, it is safe to say he will not be back at Grant. With the chaos that's going on there I don't blame him. SK was never an option. House will be on the market soon and from what I gathered Collins would or could be in the mix.

Chaos? Are you kidding me? His father is a crazy nut.

I know he is a bit hot headed but he doesn't seem like a nut.

"A Bit?" You used the word "Chaos" to describe the school. He is more of a pompous idiot than Grant County High School is a Chaotic school.

1) Do we know who they're interviewing?

2) How can the Carr family not give the new coach a chance to sell his program to them before making a decision? I think it would be better to wait and see who gets the job before jumping the gun and leaving.

1. I know Reinhart for sure and a few others that I am not familiar with.

2. Close bond with Hicks and hostility towards the administration seems to be the answer. I think it's somewhat childish that they won't give the new coach a chance but its their decision. I really wouldn't be surprised if Carr returns next year. Grant will be a contender (no matter who the coach is) and Carr will be the main stud of the team. Leaving makes no sense.

Mr. Carr is no different than any of the other parents. He wants what is best for his child and he wants to WIN "PERIOD" No matter what it takes. Can't blame the guy for that. I'm not sure what he has done in the past three years (since his son has played at GCHS) that would qualify someone to call him a pompous idiot. He put in more time with fundraisers and helping the program at GCHS than any other parent the last three years and that is a fact. Does he have flaws, sure, we all do. :thumb:

Surprised we aren't hearing more about this job. Walter, you got anything?

Do they have a set date on when they will make their decision?

When did Reinhardt interview? Who are the others?

I disagree that GC is a contender without Carr. He makes them go and gets buckets. Without him you have good players but not a 'go to' guy. You may also find out that some of those open looks aren't there that were this year because the D was doubling Carr.

I never said that GC is a contender without Carr. Read my post more carefully. I said they will be a contender no matter who they hire as the coach.
