Minter or Alonso at ILB….Reid at FS….need more Voice of reason? So yes moronic, the Bengals chose to not address these needs in off season free agency.

Very solid pick that will open up the offense. Betting they go safety with the first pick tomorrow and trickle down from there. If they didn't feel the impact was there after the top two S were off the board, why not go with a TE that makes the offense more dynamic???

Reid was gone and they weren't drafting a LB in round 1. Your argument is Swiss cheese...

And if they sign Smith to a deal tomorrow???

They need depth if they do sign him, and if they don't sign him we're out of luck. You and voice of reason enjoy your swiss cheese. Watching the great highlights of Eifert against sub par defenses all sarcasm intended as I type this. Just like Teo was so great and look how he did against a good sec foe in the NC game.

If you all think Eifert was the best available at the time. I've got great property minus the ocean with seagulls everywhere flying around the intersection of 275 and Colerain Ave. to sell you.

As for LB, Rey is a second team LB at best on any other playoff contender squad. And they need a beast ILB!

Weak arm QB with another threat 10 yards down the field and let's not forget Gresham likes to disappear.

Ogletree, Elam, or possibly traded down.

Ogletree plays inside and the Bengals have no need there IMO.

Elam, I don't like.

Trade down ... I would have liked.

All things considered I like the pick.

I assume they are going to take a S and a RB with the next couple of picks.

Draft for depth in round 1? Lol...

Reid was gone. Minter is still on the board.

I think they target Cyprien at 37 and Bernard later in the round.

That is one thing I haven't understood. The same people who complain about Dalton's arm and how he can't throw deep also wanted the Bengals to sign Mike Wallace who's best known for the deep route. The Bengals drafting a TE in a draft that really does not have playmaking receivers, was probably the best thing to do to help the offense with that pick.

With that said when the pick was first announced I was not happy. However after letting it sink in, it was the best pick for where they were at. Unless they were able to trade down, I don't consider any of the guys available at that time having the value of a 21st pick. It has been shown that teams who draft the best player available are more successful than teams who only draft for need. Now if you get best play available and a need then its a homerun pick.

So I don't mind the pick now, and may like it even more depending on who they get tomorrow. This is how I hope it plays out, I hope the Bengals select safety Jonanthan Cyprtien? (Sp.) and then hopefully the Giovani Barnard runningback from North Carolina is still available for their 2nd pick in the 2nd round. If they can do something like that then I would say it has been close to a home run for their first three picks. Feeling needs, and also getting playmakers.

Eifert could of gone in the top 10. He has the talent. This is only the first pick, I am sure we will see the LB and OL positions addressed. Eifert is more than just a TE. He lined up all over for ND and can cause matchup problems. I think AJ and Andy will love this. I think Eifert will be better than Gronk for NE.

I absolutely love this pick. Two mismatch TE's on the field at the same time with AJ Green and Sanu. Eifert wasn't supposed to be there but when the Bengals did their own mock draft earlier this week, they picked Eifert as well. All it takes is for a Buffalo to take a project QB and players like this fall a bit.

I would be happy with the safety with the 5th pick of round two and the best RB at pick 21 in round two.

All things considered I like the pick.

This is where I'm at.
