April 26, 201313 yr I don't have that big of a problem with this pick. Gresham has been so so the last couple years and Eifert is a very good catching and blocking TE. Personally I wish they would of taken Shariff who was projected at #3. Peko imo is so overrated, he can't penetrate and is beaten off the line most of the time. Shariff and Geno in the middle would of been fun to watch. The problem I have is if the Bengals do what Mel Kiper expects them to do and that is draft Manti Teo with the first pick in the 2nd round. He reminds me too much like Rey Rey, a guy who can't get off the block when a lineman comes out to block him.

April 26, 201313 yr Eifert could of gone in the top 10. He has the talent. This is only the first pick, I am sure we will see the LB and OL positions addressed. Eifert is more than just a TE. He lined up all over for ND and can cause matchup problems. I think AJ and Andy will love this. I think Eifert will be better than Gronk for NE. Better then Gronk? Are you serious?
April 26, 201313 yr I like the pick. A solid player that provides catching ability as well as blocking ability. This will also help our run game. Tom Brady and the Patriots have done pretty good with 2 tight end sets. I can see Eifert lining up in the backfield and going in motion, wide, slot, or even staying in the backfield and blocking. Can create a lot of mismatches for Dalton to find! I LIKE IT.
April 26, 201313 yr I really like this choice. I think they are growing tired of Gresham and the dropped balls. Eifert can fill many roles on the offense. The S they like, Cyprien, should still be available in Round 2.

April 26, 201313 yr This is a great pick. As others have mentioned they need guys that can get open 10 yards or less downfield. The Super Bowl score was 34-31. Defense is so over rated. Need to be able to outscore people. This pick helps that.
April 26, 201313 yr I think this was a great pick. Gresham disappears too often, drops too many passes and takes plays off after he makes a mistake. Maybe this puts a little pressure on Gresham for the first time to really work and use his talent.

You cannot have too many playmakers. The defense has needs but nothing glaring. You don't reach when you dn't have glarin needs. They will continue to take best player available, I believe. Greham contract up in 2 years, you have to think way ahead.

Playmakers yes...Teo reminds me too much like Rey and he is not a playmaker, he's a game-coster.
