I'm curious if MoCo knew this would be a one year deal when they hired Happy Happy Happy. Any MC folks know?

Isn't this like the 4th or 5th coach in the past 6 or 7 years?

Not from MoCo, but very familiar with the situation and yes, I thought it would be one year.

My guess is Hundley, like most other coaches, would stay away from the craziness at MC.

What kind of craziness are you talking about? I think MC is wanting to get back to the days like when coach Bart Rison was the coach! Look for a young hire and someone with lots of energy!!

Maybe, but Hundley is surely going to shine at somewhere not named Woodford County at some point. Would he not be interested in it? He was there at one time so he has to know what is expected. I don't mean to disrespect Woodford County it just seems like Hundley is destined for bigger and better things. In my eyes even Montgomery County would be a stepping stone job for Hundley as well but it seems it would be a step up from Woodford County.

You go with Hundley then in 2-3 years you are hiring again, he will be the head coach at Scott County when Coach Hicks retires, and I think that is sooner than later. Wonder if anyone from the 8th region would be interested?

I was thinking the next hire would be the 4th coach in the last 4 years or maybe all my years are running together.

Judging from what their bench looked like at state, they should have no shortage of assistants to choose from.

Administration. Days of Bart Rison? One regional title in 30 years?

Whoever gets to be the head coach at Montgomery County next season will get to coach a very good team. They will be pre-season no. 1 or no. 2 in the 10th Region polls.

You are correct. 2011 was Greisser's final year. Then Wise in 2012, Happy in 2013 and ? in 2014.

Jason Holland maybe? I think he applied when it was open before

That's a good point. Scott County is the kind of place I envision Scott Hundley ending up at when he is no longer at the stepping stone stage of coaching.

Fleming county coach was fired last year at Henderson County.

-----Fleming County is the second team that Coach Starns has taken to the state tourament, Johnson Central was the other one in 2006. Mark Starns is a very good coach and he will win anywhere that he has a little bit of talent. He was 81-30 his first four years at Henderson but a locker room incident, couple of disguntled parents, and a 18-15 last season was used to move him out. He was in the regional all five years and was beat by the eventual regional champion all five years. With a very talented team coming back those in charge saw the opportunity to bring back the home boy and give him a good start. He had no chance of staying at Henderson.

The best of luck to him and Fleming County at state-----

This was a post from a poster on Kentucky Preps that has a good insite as to what happen at Henderson! I love what Coach Starns said in Herald Leader after they won the 16th Region, "He felt vindicated after what happened at Henderson." Good for him because he deserved better and got better end of that sistuation!

Also like to add that Coach Starns took Fleming County to NEW HEIGHTS that they hadn't experienced in awhile. They won a school record 28 wins the most in school history, won the 61st District for the first time since being moved from the 39th District, won the 16th Region for the first time since being moved from the 10th region. First region title in 14 years. I would say that Coach Starns would be a very viable candidate for Montgomery County or any other school if he has a desire or interst in, but with a very talented team intact and coming back they will be the heavy favorites to win the 16th region again and probably have a top 10 preseason ranking, he might be happy in his current position. Fleming will be very good!!!!
