April 3, 201313 yr Everyone saw this coming. I don't think he will ever find another job after that poor display. Agreed.
April 3, 201313 yr Fired.Got what he deserved....should never be allowed to be around kids again.....what an idiot..
April 3, 201313 yr I'd be nervous if I was the U of Rhode Island. Hurley to NJ seems like a natural fit.
April 3, 201313 yr Listening to Feinstein this morning, he was talking about college practices because he has observed 100's of them by a number of coaches and heard stories. He said throwing a basketball at a player, shoving a player, using slurs .... these things happen. The difference with Rice is how much it happened and how over the top he was. It was interesting hearing Feinstein say that this happens more frequently than most realize. Not that it is common, but it happens.

But as you said, he was pretty over the top about it. I had no problem with him "pushing" the players into position in practice, or things of that sort. But pretty hard to defend punching and kicking players. Can't see where there would ever be a need for that.
April 3, 201313 yr No brainer, but the AD should be canned too. The president should have fired both of them yesterday.
April 3, 201313 yr Everyone saw this coming. I don't think he will ever find another job after that poor display. Billy G got another one so I wouldn't be surprised if he does to.
April 3, 201313 yr Atleast when Cal was throwing balls at the kids he let them throw at him as well. This guy should have used Cal's dodgeball technique.
April 3, 201313 yr This is not surprising at all. The only thing surprising is the fact that he lasted this long.
April 3, 201313 yr The AD won't be gone. He got them into the Big 10. But wouldn't be surprised if he's on thin ice going forward.
