The previous WV coach was far from Mike Rice. No comparison what so ever.

Rumblings about Daniel Helton leaving as well. Any clue where he might end up?

Maybe a place where you can sweep up for 10minutes a day to cover tuition?

Rumor has it that Helton is going to another district team- this time in Kenton County.

Tired of this nonsense. Beginning to feel like the Andrew Wiggins recruitment.

Where would this be - Highlands?

I don't understand this obsession with kids receiving tuition assistance. To my knowkledge, "every stuednt" in the public school system is on "full scholarship".

Really??????????? I know you are referring to property taxes paying for school, but what about the fees for books, lab fees, sports participation and so on and so on. No "full scholarship" there.

Are not those same expenses charged at the private schools?

Ok - Well at least a really good partial scholarship covering almost everything..... :D

Out of districts students pay full tuition. There's no discounts and no options to wipe off the

boards or sharpen pencils for $6k. Of course, Highlands doesn't have to offer a discounted rate to attract students.

I have no problem with discounts if the KHSAA allows it though.

I think you are viewing this from the perspective of a friend that is being left behind. I have no skin in this game. I am a casual acquaintance from afar. My perspective is different than yours. I simply believe the luster of what WV could have been for these kids are gone. They bought in to WV can win a championship. I believe Dave has worked tirelessly to help that process. If they stay at WV they can win an all A region, but may not be favored. The dream of the big region is gone. If they leave, there will be collateral damage and friends will have their feelings hurt. You sound like one of those friends. I would hope time will heal your wounds or else I would say your relationship is based on what he can do for you, not what is best for the Moeves family.
As a Walton/Verona resident I would tend to agree with Weakside on this one. They Moeves family have not handled this situation very well nor have their boys. If you want to move and go to another school.....that's fine but don't continue to take advantage of your access to the school gym (the school should just take the keys back to the gym) and you shouldn't allow your kids to bad mouth a school that they continue to attend. These things are going on and I believe that is what has this community, as well as their friends, upset.

The million dollar question would be --- would they be considering a Catholic education if McNeil and Burns were still at WV??? Absolutely not! From what I can tell, they are pretty nice people however the way they have handled this situation has left a lot to be desired. This will certainly be a great teaching lesson for all parties involved.

Have you heard them bad mouthing the school? Sounds like hearsay to me. If they are still enrolled and the father still is listed as a coach in the school district, why should he have his keys taken?

It appears that Helton is headed to Community Christian in Taylor Mill.

That darn Coach Trame, he's still running kids out of Walton! :)

Just curious.......where are your kids going to go to High School? And who gets the final "say so", you or mama?
