June 11, 201412 yr One of the worst movies I have had to sit through. I can't imagine the 2nd being any better. I absolutely hate Jim Carrey. :puke:
June 11, 201412 yr ^Yeah, I'd rather watch paint dry than Jim Carrey. His Ace Ventura character is one of the worst ever.

June 11, 201412 yr He was AWESOME in In Living Color and good in Liar Liar. Liar Liar is probably the only movie of his I enjoy. Solid movie.
June 11, 201412 yr "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "The Truman Show" both immediately come to mind as other Jim Carrey movies I really like. Also a fan of "Man on the Moon". But I do really like "Dumb & Dumber". Well how do you like that... turns out I'm a bit of a Carrey fan. No idea.
June 12, 201412 yr Carrey is just bad. Dumb and Dumber was just bad. This has good idea written all over it. Hollywood tried hard to make Carrey a star, but he just isn't very good. I'd give him Truman, except that Edtv had a similar enough premise and was a much, much better movie. The only movie I can really watch him in is "Fun with Dick and Jane,".
June 12, 201412 yr I liked Dumb and Dumber. But it will be hard to do a sequel that measures up. I'm not a huge Carey fan, but his portrayal of The Grinch is GENIUS!

Whether you like him or not it would be hard to argue that Hollywood didn't make him a star. According to the website box office mojo, his movies have grossed almost 2.5 billion for an average of 94.5 million per film. That's pretty good. For comparison here are some of his peers per average film in millions: Tom Hanks 101.5, Leo DiCaprio 97.3, Tom Cruise 95.1, Johnny Depp 75.4, Morgan Freeman 75.1, Matt Damon 73.6. He's about as good of a draw to the theater as any other actor.
