I have watched most of the Middle School teams that feed these High Schools and feel very confident in my choices.

 

I guess no HHS because you never watched them? Trust me they might not end up on top next year but no way that many teams are better! Plus I like their chances when they go through the systems. I can't argue that the Blueboys will have a very talented squad.

That would be hard to do because Ryle is the only 6A school I know of that has one 7-8 grade team feeding its high school. This year they will have a 7-8 team and some 8th on a select team.

They were upset that we hijacked their Highlands Frosh 2013 thread and told us to start our own. Here we go. I guess it is OK for them to talk about their success. We can read the non sense that #1 UK fan puts out there but we are foolish to talk about the success Ryle has now and going to have. My opinion Ryle gets # 3 this year and # 4 next year. Ryle vs CCH Frosh championship. The only reason they want to change the subject to the varsity level is because they know the power is changing at the lower levels. It is only a matter of time before we catch them.

If I had to choose from the teams I have seen play my pick would be the Blueboys.. They had a really nice team last year plus who knows who else will be showing up there..They also have the best player by far in Vonhandorf..

 

Agree with CCH Frosh.

They are a special group. The skill positions on both sides of the ball are the deepest among the contenders. Some teams may have a few more talented kids, but not as many on one team IMO. As 8th graders they beat all comers convincingly and the starters never played more than three quarters. Closer to one half actually. Good leadership among the boys as well.

SK also gets kids from South Kenton and they will be getting a pretty good running back his last name is Rider.

Here are my top five frosh teams this year.

 

1. Ryle

 

2. CCH

 

3 Cooper

 

4. Dixie

 

5. Conner

I have no idea how the Frosh teams will fair this year, haven't seen the NKY area's pee wee teams play last year. Do they still have the all star game between Campbell/ Kenton vs Boone?

 

Anyway I would never count Beechwood out, they have always had a pretty decent Frreshman team. Didn't they play in the Championship game a couple times in the last 4 years? The Spartan program always seems to produce some solid players.

Vonhandorf is a nice player, not sure about the best but a nice player. The only issue I see is that while he is working on jump shots these other kids are getting ready for football. I eventually see him giving up football for basketball, really great basketball player. Ryle has a QB that can play the position at a high level also.

This will be the 3rd year for most of them running EXACTLY what the Cooper varsity runs (scaled down of course). They will have a good mix of size, speed and very, very good skill position players plus adding in what they have coming from the BC league this team could make a run.

Agree 100%. That is why I have Cooper in my top 5. Nice team and seeing the rewards from their youth team. I would also like to point out that Ryle and Cooper have the two best head coaches at the Frosh level.

And you did start your own thread but it was you who decided to include Highlands in your very first post. My advice to you is to let it play itself out the next 4 years. You can't throw stones at a program who has an Earthmover full of boulders. As the great one has stated, Frosh scores does not normally translate into Varsity success. The numbers speak for themselves.

 

For example last year while walking out of Beechwood after watching Highlands get manhandled by a very good Tiger team. A couple of Bechwood parents I overheard say that if these 2 teams played a few years down the road it would be a totally different outcome. Even winners know when to let things play themselves out. Take a deep breath and enjoy your sons time as a Raider. I seriously doubt you will catching Highlands anytime soon. First thing would of been playing them at the Varsity level. Just because you have some success at the Varsity level and are not willing to play one the better teams in the state year in and year out doesn't mean you will get any respect that you think you deserve.

Now that Middle School basketball is over and kids are in the weight room. I have two questions. Will Ryle Frosh keep the streak alive and get their third straight victory over Highlands? Who are the teams to beat this year?

 

If one reads the fine print at the bottom of that scoreboard that you are using as you avatar, one will note that Frosh wins do not compute into Varsity State Championships Just sayin...

I remember a Ryle Senior Night when they were announcing multiple players' favorite football memory as a regular season freshman win over Highlands. Mind you, these were seniors who just a week or two earlier had beaten SK in a close game to win district! It was pretty funny. Of course, Ryle also won that night; but a few weeks later HHS won their 4th SC in a row. :lol2:

How about Beechwood? They beat Ryle in the finals last year, can they repeat?

 

They were well coached and had a gameplan. Played good team ball.

If Morgan was smart, he would get out of there right now. His career as a QB will be over before it starts at Ryle.
