Cooper 41 St. Henry 37 9th Region

Cooper 0-15 from 3...WOW!! St. Henry 23% from 3

And it wasn't just bad shooting. The ball was being thrown around like it was a hot potato ... turnovers, bad decision making, forced passes, just plain bad passes, poor free throw shooting, I am trying to think of one thing either team did well in this one ... it may take a while.

Ugly game but so was the Holmes NCC game. I think the arena took some time to get used to. Didn't see a lot of outside shots made by any of the 4 teams.

Except Bolden ... Holmes shot it the best of the 4 teams that played tonight.

Holmes is a very focused team. They will advance. To much quickness for Cooper.

Congrats to Cooper on the win. Good luck the rest of the way.

Congrats to the St Henry seniors! Great showing on their last day in the Cru uni. Meiman, Best, Hils, Kuebbing and Carr--Thank You!

When I heard this morning that Jordan Noble would not be at the game, I was devastated. I know he and his family were even more so. I'm glad he is a junior. Look for one heck of a great season from him next year. Cru will be depending on him.

Now for the elephant in room---everyone talking about how awful Cooper played. But maybe, just maybe, St Henry played well? Never any credit for the underdog.

Nope they both played poorly, really poorly. AS VOR said it will take a while to figure out what was really good in this game. The kids did play hard, though.

Funny...I remember the Cooper fans posting how Cooper just played bad the first time St Henry and Cooper met when it was ugly and pretty close. Must of coincidentally played bad again vs the Cru. Or just maybe it was the way the Cru planned it. Hmm

Do you think St. Henry played well?

It wasn't effort. I thought SH played with intensity. These games happen to all teams, it was just odd to see both of them really never get anything going. But both teams had unforced turnovers, more than normal, missed easy layups, open shots, this wasn't any coaching things just bad execution. Both coaches were upset throughout and rightly so. Several times I saw each coach throw up their hands as if to say what the heck is going on here.

St Henry boys played hard, I will give that. If you think that St Henry imposed their will on Cooper and made the Jags go 0-15 from 3 pt land and shoot what had to be a lousy FT percentage then I need to feel a little better about the game. The fact that Cooper won based on what St Henry did to them is pretty amazing. Thanks for changing my perspective on the game. I will be able to sleep much better.

I think St.Henry did what they needed to do to make this a close game. Slow down the pace, make it hard inside for Cooper. Kids played hard on both sides. The Crusaders were very outsized with Noble out and Carr not playing. To top it off, Kunstek was in foul trouble from the get go. I'd say St.H was 6 for 6 from the line (see a positive) and Cooper was somewhere around 15 for 25 (just guessing). Good luck to Cooper the rest of the way and I'm sure they will take winning ugly any day.

I agree neither team played well but In my opinion a lot of the sloppy play was a mixture of many things but one of the big reasons was the type of defense being played. No one was really getting easy shots off. Even the 3s were somewhat contested.

^Nice interview with Coach Sullivan. Good guy! :thumb: I have to agree with his comment about Cooper lacking intensity. I saw this in the first Cru/Jags match-up. Lots of talent on the Cooper team. But sense of urgency?
