Cooper won they game. That's all they needed to do. I'll give them credit for advancing.

 

They also won the "draw" by getting St. Henry. They are NOT talented outside of Maniacci. They might play hard, but most of the teams in the regional do.

 

They cannot stay with Holmes and will likely lose by 12-15.

 

It would be more but these regional games tend to be low scoring. If Holmes is able to get any kind of lead, they will again dribble out the clock, make Copper work, and Cooper has no one to stay with them.

 

A 12-15 point victory will feel like 20.

 

Last night Holmes ws very impressive ball handling and being smart after getting second chance rebounds, kicking it out, and withering away more clock.

 

I was going to fire a long response to this post, but after contemplating over the "talent" comment, I decided your knowledge of what player talent is doesn't even deserve a response. A majority of the 9th region coaches; if not all, would laugh at that statement.

St.Henry played good interior defense, which is what they needed to do. Cooper did have numerous outside looks, but if they aren't hitting, why get away from clogging the middle and giving up easy baskets.

Cooper is good enough to win the region. They played right along with Holmes at Holmes and beat CCH at CCH. Foul shooting and rebounding will win the Cooper/Holmes game.

I was pleased with the student sections for both teams. Two big groups of spirited fans. I also enjoyed Cooper's band.

I was pleasantly suprised that so many showed up, considering it's a bit of a haul on a rainy night. Plus parking was a challenge with all the lots full.

I agree with all ur points except the talent comment. There is a reason why Maniacci was on the bench for nearly all of the 4th qtr. This team needs a leader and it doesn't have one. There is an abundance of talent on this team but they have yet to put it all together.

I was wondering why he sat out a lot of the game? When he was in and posted up no one threw him the ball. There were several blatant situations where he had his man pinned and was wide open and the wings just ignored him. Am I missing something?

Yes but the majority of his were still layups, but I will tell you something....he was worth the price of admission. What he did in the 2nd half was fun to watch although he needs a little more discipline. Once Holmes got a nice lead he wouldn't slow it down and took too quick of shots and let NCC right back in the game. They need to know where they are in a game.

Holmes is a very focused team. They will advance. To much quickness for Cooper.

In regards too the talent comment, Coach Sully must be one hell of a coach to be in the region semi's with a 24-5 team with no talent.

No, I am not kidding. Who is "talented"? Who on that team other than Lou would start for any of the other powers? Holmes, NC, CCH? And who would they beat out?

 

I think any team in the region would take Zach McNeil, AJ Collins and Drew Shelton is one of the hardest and better big men in the region. You really haven't watched Cooper much I'm guessing.
