I was there and found nothing inappropriate about the student section cheers. Mr. Robinson and Coach Mueller apparently saw nothing that merited their intervention. I was surrounded by parents of players and other parents who made no comment on the cheers.

I get pretty zoned into what's going on in the game I generally don't pay attention to the chants so if you say the chants weren't as bad as some are claiming then I will take your word Jpa.

 

I did hear the "next point wins" cheer and I gotta admit I almost smiled. Sometimes when things are going so bad on the court you want to just take your ball and go home, a little humor is needed. I personally didn't think that was as bad as many might think.

Its all good man just giving you a hard time. Im sure its really hard updating so many people. As long as I dont miss out on all A scores then district and region scores I will be happy.

If I didn't know the make-up of the HHS basketball team, I might be led to believe this was the case.

 

4 of the 5 starters last night for HHS are football players. The first 2 subs are football players. That's 6 of 7. Not just members of the football team, but key parts of the state championship football team. The kids in the stands are their teammates. Maybe the kids in the stands were just as frustrated as the kids were on the court and the resulting sarcasm was the end result.

NCC won by 11 as Highlands was 15 of 36 from the free throw line. Led 17 to 13 after one by attacking the basket and making the extra pass. That disappeared in the next 3 quarters. Frosh have some talent, but have guys playing out of position and others that do not see the floor as much as they should.

I guess. I'm by no means a Highlands fan. I just found it different than what the guys were like that I knew from Highlands.

Cain from hhs had either 10 or 11 but got in foul trouble late and was subject to the offense/defense sub for most of the 4th. Seemed nc spread their scoring out pretty well and I must say did a great job of moving the ball around until they got open looks. The musical chair substitution pattern for HHS led to a lot of the confusion on both ends for them. At one point I thinks nc had a 17 to 3 run which put the birds on their heals. Many 3 on 1 looks for nc after breaking the press. I do wish someone would teach them how to take a charge instead not doing it and causing others to get cheap fouls. Refs were terrible on both ends so that was not an excuse.
