Are you serious? What was NCC suppose to do? The JV guys played the entire second half. Did you expect Brannen to tell his team to stop taking shots for 3 quarters?

 

HHS starters couldn't score on NCC's JV team. Only one starter scored!!!

 

The guys on the JV team had an opportunity to show their coaches what they were capable of doing. At the end of the game, NCC stopped shooting there's.

Personally I would rather my biggest rival insert their point guard and best player into the game in the forth quarter up 35 than have my biggest rival take a knee late in the game and not even try to score. Just hypothetically speaking.

You misread that statement as i meant i was taking back my post claiming NCC was running up the score. I believe they had kids in the game trying to make the boxscore and they were firing up 3's.

HHS had a total of 3 - 2 pt field goals in the entire game. A runner in the lane by Weyer, a driving layup Houliston, and a short jumper by Houliston.

 

HHS had 1 made free throw, got to the line once for 2 shots.

KB was nails for two treys. kid loved to shoot the threes and is built like a Linebacker.

IMO, Here's what is going to happen.

 

Mike Flynn will resign after this year - doesn't need the headknock.

 

Mike Listerman will apply and get the head coaching job. He will entice Ken Shields to become his varsity assistant and the old St. Thomas/Highlands staff will re-invent themselves. Shields and Listerman still carry enough pull there that they will get the kids out to play, and keep some of the football kids who might otherwise quit. You will see both working the cafeteria and the Junior High, as well as selling tickets at Bluebirds football games.

 

After a few years, when Willie Schlarman's kids get a little older they will pull him out of retirement to take over the reins of the newly invigorated Basketball Bluebirds.
