Cal's newest recruiting pitch, "If you come to UK and work your tail off you'll know exactly what you'll need to do to improve your draft stock and that's just out hustle and out perform your teammates every day"

If Harriw, Poythress, WCS, and Wiltjer all come back and Cal signs Wiggins or Randle, could UK have the best 2 teams in the Country?

Yes. This class will be ridiculous when Wiggins gets on board. Wow. No one should defeat this team.

^ What makes him so effective though? Great technique and footwork? I don't remember him looking super athletic from when he played with MKG. Does he have any kind of range? Great finisher around the rim?

Great work ethic and a bright kid first and foremost. He is more of a below the rim, old school back to the basket center. Big strong hands and while his footwork is still developing some, he has a solid post game just because of his wide frame and ability to get position deep on the block. He isn't going to block a lot of shots, but he is an excellent communicator on the back end of the defense and should be a very productive guy on the glass right out of the gate. Will definitely give Cal a different dimension as a guy you can run a set for and count on a basket with a quality post feed...

Nice addition for the Cats. I remember when he was playing with the Central KY Warriors and Sayre High School. It will be nice to have him back in Lexington wearing the blue and white.

Who do you compare him to?

I loathe comparing high school kids to past college and pro standouts. Not fair to the kid IMO...

Sounds like a Mel Turpin type player.

Sounds more like Cousins than a Davis or Noel type player.

I've seen on some sites where his game is somewhat compared to Cousins'. He's list 6'10, 250. The size is comparable (Cousins' weight may be 15 pounds heavier) but whether the game is similar is to be seen. I don't know if comparing a player's game with past and present players is fair. I'm with gametime on that one. But it is inevitable that happens, even with NBA scouts.

He looked good last night. Like GT said when he got the rock in the paint you could just put the points on the board. Even on the couple he missed he tapped in his miss.

What was his stat line?

IMO he is only going to get better. Had to sit out all of last season after transferring and he is just now finding his groove again, was MVP of the City of Palms which is a huge honor considering the talent there. Another thing is high school ball is usually guard and wing dominated, most bigs no matter how talented usually have a hard time finding touches on the high school level. Once he gets on campus he can start getting to work and eventually he will see the ball come his way a lot more as schemes and sets are designed to get him the ball on the block. Right now he is very efficient with his scoring because even though he's had great production it's not like the offense has been running through him at Montverde.

What was his stat line?

Not sure off the top of my head. Montverde beat the crap out of Simeon. I want to say he had 16. Seems like the whole team all had between 12-16 points. Impressive squad.
